Brzoza can be explored through several distinct themes: the manor house around 1900, the history of a former stop on the Krotoszyńska Kolej Dojazdowa, and plans for walking and cycling routes. This lets you combine cultural history with travel planning without conflating the town’s historic features with later route plans.

Manor House, Park and Ponds

The manor house in Brzoza was built around 1900, at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. A four-column portico stands in front of its entrance. Alongside this architectural detail, the layout of the manor complex is also noteworthy: it has largely been preserved, despite minor changes to the appearance and use of the buildings. This offers two distinct perspectives—the design of the individual house and the inherited layout of the entire complex.

Two ponds lie to the northwest of the manor house. One is in the park, while the other is immediately next to its western boundary. Their locations clearly distinguish the two bodies of water and add a specific landscape feature to the view of the park and manor complex.

A recreational centre has also been established in the park. If you plan to visit the recreational centre, check the current terms of use in advance.

Former Railway and Planned Routes

Brzoza had a stop on the dismantled Krotoszyn–Pleszew section of the Krotoszyńska Kolej Dojazdowa. The line was closed on 12 January 1986. The former stop is part of the town’s history; cycling and walking route projects are later plans.

A project description dated 7 June 2021 proposed a 3,127-metre section of a cycling route from Brzoza to Nowy Folwark. The planned section was intended to connect existing sections of cycling route. Another planned walking and cycling route project starting from Brzoza was part of the “Śladami Bany” route. This route was intended to connect Krotoszyn with Rozdrażew and follow the former route of the Krotoszyńska Kolej Dojazdowa.

A project from 2020–2021 proposed a walking and cycling route along county road 4331P on the Nowy Folwark–Bożacin–Brzoza section. The plans mentioned cover different routes and endpoints. If you are considering one of these plans for your cycling trip, check the current route and which sections are usable in advance.

Krotoszyn as the Wider Travel Area

The wider travel destination of Krotoszyn has other distinct cultural and route offerings. The red “Krotoszyn–Baszków” walking trail connects Krotoszyn and Baszków over 15.3 kilometres. In the wider travel destination of Krotoszyn, the black “Wokół Krotoszyna” cycling route is 44.1 kilometres long; the green “Krotoszyńskie Dąbrowy” cycling route measures 39.3 kilometres. These distances allow for a direct comparison: the walking trail is shorter than the two cycling routes, which also differ in length.

In the wider travel destination of Krotoszyn, the permanent exhibition at the Hieronim Ławniczak Regional Museum features more than 1,300 objects from archaeology, local folk culture, and regional art. Temporary exhibitions on historical, artistic, natural history, and regional themes are added several times a year. Krotoszanka, the oldest surviving house in Krotoszyn, is a wooden arcade house dating from the second half of the 18th century. The “Wojska Polskiego” landscape park dates from the first half of the 19th century and has two ponds with fountains.
