Radlin brings together several distinct discoveries: an exceptional palace and garden complex, preserved today as a ruin; a parish church with architectural elements from different centuries; and an educational apiary offering hands-on activities. A section of the Transwielkopolska Cycling Route also passes through the village. These themes offer different ways to plan your stay: cultural history, insights into beekeeping, or a longer cycling route.

Palace Complex and Historic Buildings

The palace and garden complex in Radlin is the only currently known non-fortified residence on a rural estate in Greater Poland built on previously undeveloped land. These features describe both the site where it was built and its character as a residence without fortifications. Today, the complex survives as a ruin; only fragments of the chapel and the northeastern wall remain of the palace complex.

Different construction periods can also be distinguished at St. Valentine’s Parish Church. The church is early Baroque and dates from 1686 to 1688. The church also has an older Renaissance chapel from the fourth quarter of the 16th century, dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Beside the church stands a wooden bell tower from the 19th century. The chapel, parish church and bell tower make the different periods of construction visible in the village, without needing to conflate their dates into a single building phase.

Insights into Beekeeping

Pszczeli Zakątek is an educational apiary that brings together beekeeping, education and tourism. Beds of nectar- and honey-producing plants have been planted around the site. Several types of beehive make it possible to observe the bees at work inside. The planting beds and views inside the hives therefore offer two different ways to explore the subject: one through plants grown for bees, the other through their work in the hive.

Those who want to get hands-on can make beeswax candles or soaps in workshops. Pszczeli Zakątek also offers excursion programs for groups and individual visitors. A workshop and an excursion program are different ways to explore the subject. As booking arrangements may change, it is advisable to confirm the specific arrangements in advance.

Radlin on a Longer Cycling Route

The southern section of the Transwielkopolska Cycling Route passes through Radlin. The 38.6 kilometers refer to the entire route from Pogorzelica to Kurcew, not just the section in the village. Radlin is therefore a point on a longer route, not its starting point or destination. If you plan to ride the route, check the conditions and signage before setting off, as they may change.

More to Explore in the Wider Destination of Jarocin

In the wider destination of Jarocin, SOWA in Jarocin offers a different way to explore science: its exhibition includes 15 exhibits from various scientific fields and encourages visitors to explore, discover and experiment independently. This differs in subject from the educational apiary in Radlin: here the focus is on beekeeping, while there visitors independently explore different areas of science.

Cultural and nature-related attractions also add to the picture of Jarocin. The Radoliński Palace was built between 1847 and 1853 to designs by Friedrich August Stüler. In Jarocin Park, the Parkowy Odkrywca educational nature trail leads to particularly impressive or valuable trees throughout the park. These attractions are part of the wider destination of Jarocin and should be distinguished from the sights in Radlin.
