When planning a stay in Bacoor, it is worth considering its different highlights: an agricultural past, memorial sites, mangrove landscapes, and activities for children. The ones that interest you most can also guide your choice of destinations and your search for a hotel.
Agriculture and Mangrove Landscapes
Prinsang Ligas is a gravity dam dating from the colonial era. It irrigated the rice fields of Hacienda de San Nicolas, which belonged to the Recollect religious order. Its history is therefore also a story of agricultural use and irrigation. Today, the dam still serves as a footbridge and as a crossing for commuters traveling to and from Bacoor. It is a functional crossing, not an attraction designed specifically for visitors.
The mangrove plantation in Dulong Pulo, Barangay Sinbanali, also tells a story of changing land use: it was once a 40-hectare sugar beet farm. The Mangrove Plantation forest contains more than 100,000 mangrove seedlings and provides a habitat for crabs, shellfish, and migratory birds. The contrast between the former farm and the mangrove area adds a distinct historical dimension to the landscape. If nature is of particular interest to you, you can take this into account when choosing which places to visit.
Memorial Sites and Local History
The Bacoor Heroes Tower was inaugurated on January 15, 2026, at Bacoor Freedom Park in Mabolo Plaza. Another battle between Filipinos and Americans took place at Zapote Battlefield on June 13, 1899. The Battlefield is also home to the Zapote River Walk and Bike Lane, a linear park with several murals. If you plan to visit this route, check its current condition in advance. The history of Simbahan ng Bacoor can also be placed in context: the rebuilt church was completed 28 years after the original church building was destroyed.
Senyong’s Museum showcases the life of a farmer as well as the agricultural tools, equipment, and cultivation techniques of Arsenio “Senyong” Soriano. Rather than focusing on a single historic battle or building, it offers a glimpse of rural life and working practices. Collection details may change; check in advance if a particular tool or cultivation technique is important to you.
Activities for Children and Visit Planning
Bacoor Eco-Park has wooden huts and sari-sari stores that offer snacks and refreshments. Check whether these facilities are currently available before making plans. A different focus awaits at Strike! Fire and Rescue Village, the first fire and rescue village for children in the Philippines. Its activities focus on fire prevention, appropriate responses to fire emergencies and evacuation, and the correct response to earthquakes. As current visitor access has not been confirmed, check in advance if you plan to visit.
