A six-kilometre walking trail, an 18-hole golf course and a church with a distinctive wartime history give Cromvoirt a range of attractions for a stay. There is also a cycling route through Cromvoirt and Vught, as well as two asparagus-related options: a farm shop and an annual culinary pop-up event. When planning a trip, you can consider outdoor activities, golf, architectural history and food as separate focuses. For planning purposes, it is worth distinguishing between routes, day activities and specific event dates.

A walking trail and cycling route with different focuses

The Ommetje Cromvoirt is a six-kilometre walking trail around Cromvoirt. It passes old dikes, a patchwork of farmland, woodland, hedgerows and typical ribbon development. Along the way, you will see both landscape features and characteristics of the settlement pattern. The Ommetje follows the walking junction network and is marked with signs reading “Ommetje Cromvoirt”. If the signposting is important for finding your way, check the signs on site.

The Boerderijen Fietsroute has a different focus. This approximately 27-kilometre cycling route passes through Vught and Cromvoirt, taking in monumental, characteristic and modern farmhouses. Compared with the Ommetje, the routes differ both in how you travel and in their themes: the walking trail features the landscape described above, while the cycling route focuses on farmhouses along the way. This lets you choose based on two specific interests: would you rather walk or cycle, and focus on the landscape or on farmhouses?

Sint Lambertuskerk: Architecture and Wartime History

Carl Weber designed Sint Lambertuskerk. Its interior includes woodwork and stained-glass windows. A major change came at the end of the Second World War, a day before liberation: German troops completely blew up the tower to prevent the Allies from using it as a lookout point. When the church was restored in 1949, the tower was not rebuilt. The building’s history thus brings together Carl Weber’s design and the interior, the destruction at the end of the war, and the restoration without a tower.

Golf as a day activity

Bernardus Golf is an 18-hole course in Cromvoirt and has a driving range. The operator also offers a day membership for a full day of golf. If you want to make golf the focus of a day, you can consider this full-day option. As booking conditions may change, check the current terms of the day membership in advance.

Asparagus farm shop and annual pop-up

Aspergekwekerij Verhoeven sells asparagus at its farm shop at St. Lambertusstraat 77 in Cromvoirt. If you plan to visit the shop, check its opening hours in advance. “Asperges in het veld” is a separate offering: this culinary pop-up event takes place annually on the De Heihoorn estate in Cromvoirt. If you want to plan your trip around the event, check the date of that year’s edition. This keeps a farm-shop visit and an outing to the event distinct as two different ways to include Cromvoirt’s asparagus offerings in your trip plans.
