Hiking: Andersche Diep and trails in the village
The Andersche Diep hiking route starts at a roadside car park at Hoorse Bulten near Rolde-Nooitgedacht. It is 4 km long and forms part of Drentsche Aa National Park. Another hiking route runs through the residential area of Nooitgedacht. The routes therefore have different features: the Andersche Diep has a specified length and named starting point, while the other route runs through the residential area.
Petting zoo in the village centre
In the centre of Nooitgedacht, there is a petting zoo with goats, rabbits, a donkey, and pigs. The animals add another specific point of interest in the village alongside the hiking trails and art.
Art at Hof van Saksen
The Collectie Harms Rolde has been based at Hof van Saksen in Nooitgedacht since June 2016. Sculptures stand across the 65-hectare grounds and can be explored on foot via an art route. Another art option was the boutique art fair Kunst aan het Hof: its fifth edition took place in early spring 2026 at the Havezate at Hof van Saksen. The fair presented art, antiques, jewellery, and design. At this edition, works could be viewed in the Havezate and outdoors along the walking paths at Hof van Saksen. Play and activity garden
The play and activity garden in Nooitgedacht opened on 10 October 2025 and is a free public playground. It includes a sandbox with a water play area; the water pump and water play area are wheelchair accessible. A two-billion-year-old erratic boulder found in Nooitgedacht was moved to the village’s newly created play and activity garden. In this way, the garden combines play facilities with a find from Nooitgedacht. A playground is located between De Trans and the new residential area in Nooitgedacht.
Het Tuinhuis and the Plantjesmarkt
At Tuinhuis, a greenhouse in Nooitgedacht, clients grow and sell plants. In 2024, the Plantjesmarkt Het Tuinhuis featured garden products, home accessories, gifts for special occasions, and handmade treats. The selection may vary from one edition to another.
