City museum and art
The Ferizaj City Museum was founded on June 2, 2011. It has departments of archaeology, ethnology, and history, and can accommodate more than 1,000 exhibits. The three disciplines offer different perspectives on the city’s history and culture; the founding date adds the museum’s own institutional history to this context.
The Ismail Rama Art Gallery hosts exhibitions and offers workshops and training for young artists. This adds another perspective on fine art and arts education to the topics covered by the museum. If a particular exhibition is the reason for your trip, check its dates in advance.
Religious buildings and construction periods
The Great Mosque, also known as the Mulla Veseli Mosque, stands in the center of Ferizaj and was built in 1891. Also in the center is the Church of St. Urosh, built between 1929 and 1933; its interiors contain murals dating from 1930. The Catholic Church of the Guardian Angel was built in 1926.

The Ferizaj railway station building was constructed in 1874 and is considered the city’s oldest public building. The railway played an important role in Ferizaj’s origins and development.
