RZR HaTzafon is based in Moshav Amnon and offers self-guided off-road tours in all-terrain vehicles. There is also a food truck area on the same grounds. Am Non Bay Beach has its own swimming regulations; the wider Northern District also offers archaeological sites for a different travel focus.

Dining in Moshav Amnon

The kosher food truck area includes two trucks: NOGAYA, a dairy coffee truck serving coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, and a meat burger truck serving hamburgers, fries, and other dishes. Both options are located on the grounds of RZR HaTzafon and offer different choices for a food stop. As the current visitor offering may change, check with the operator before setting out.

Off-road Tours and Beach Planning

RZR HaTzafon's off-road tours are self-guided. Confirm current availability directly with the operator before your trip, before making the activity a fixed part of your day's plans. Nearby Amnon Beach is also popular with campers. Am Non Bay Beach has its own swimming rules: swimming is permitted only during the bathing season, only in the designated area, and between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Check the beach authority's current information before visiting, as the season, designated area, and hours may change.

Shoreline and Trails Nearby

A stretch of shoreline in the national park preserves wildlife and plant life in their natural state. For hikes in the wider region, the Israel National Trail around the Sea of Galilee, “Shvil Sovev Kinneret,” is a longer option: it is about 65 kilometers long. Some sections are closed to the public, so check current trail conditions before hiking and do not plan on the entire route being open.

Archaeological Sites in the Northern District

Within the wider Northern District destination, Tel Hazor and Tel Megiddo form a distinct archaeological focus. Tel Hazor is a biblical tell with significant remains of a city with biblical connections; visits focus on the upper city. Solomon's Gate, dating to the 10th century BCE, has six chambers and two towers. The Canaanite palace was used by the kings of Hazor in the 14th and 13th centuries BCE. A Late Bronze Age palace is considered the most elaborate in Israel and one of the most important in the Levant.

Further details at Tel Hazor include a 45-meter-deep excavated shaft and an underground water collection system. Steps three meters wide are carved into the walls of a vertical shaft. The system represents sophisticated engineering adapted to the geography for water storage. Tel Megiddo is one of three tells preserving significant remains of cities with biblical connections and closely associated with events in the Bible. The Early Bronze Age temple complex is exceptional for the number of its temples, the continuity of cult activity, and its documented ritual practices. The Iron Age orthogonal city plan has few parallels in the Levant.

Tel Hazor National Park can be reached from the north and south via Route 90 toward Ayelet Hashahar. Check your navigation before driving.
