Spring blossoms, church history and inherited culture offer different ways to experience Táska during a stay. When planning, it is worth considering the seasonal nature, the history of the place and the special visiting conditions at Fehérvízi-láp separately.

Nature from blossom to bird migration

In spring, you can visit the snowflake blooms in Táska’s natural surroundings. Their timing depends on the weather, so they are a seasonal point of reference, not a fixed calendar date. Fehérvízi-láp, north of Táska, may only be visited with special permission. Check the visiting arrangements locally before planning a visit.

Numerous species of ducks, herons and cormorants, greylag geese and various birds of prey nest in Fehér-vízi-Láp in Nagyberek. During bird migration, migratory birds use the area as a stopover and feeding site. The weather-dependent spring blossoms and the birdlife of a wetland during migration thus represent different nature themes.

Church, monument and local history

The church in Táska was consecrated in 1752 and replaced by the present church in 1820. Another local point of interest is the locally protected statue of Szent Vendel at the intersection of Rákóczi and Petőfi Streets. These two places lead to different aspects of local history: the development of the church and a monument under local protection in the streetscape.

The religious history also has a clearly defined historical boundary: until 1831, the priests in Táska were Croats, and local Masses were held in Croatian. The Táska women’s choir preserves the musical and clothing traditions of earlier generations. Alongside architectural heritage, language, music and clothing traditions are therefore among the themes that shape Táska’s history.

What a programme from 2019 describes

The Táska programme for 2019 described the protected rows of wine cellars as accessible year-round; wine tastings could be requested at the cellars. For Fehérvízi-láp, the programme listed guided visits for nature lovers in every season, but only with special permission. A St Martin’s Day wine tasting announced for 2019 presented the wines produced that year.

The programme also listed locally organised horse-drawn carriage rides with wine tasting, as well as tastings of pálinka made from local fruit, available by prior arrangement. If you are planning a cellar visit, guided tour or tasting today, check the current conditions, dates and booking options in advance.

Plan your stay to suit your interests

When looking for a holiday rental in Táska, it may help to decide first what you want from your trip: seasonal nature, local history or a visit subject to special conditions. The snowflake blooms depend on the weather; special permission is required for Fehérvízi-láp. Include activities from earlier programmes dating to 2019 in your plans only if you can confirm the current visiting or booking conditions.
