Saint-Louis is on the island of Marie-Galante in Guadeloupe. The town center is characterized by its church, small town hall and flower-adorned Creole houses. A holiday rental here is a base on Marie-Galante, not Grande-Terre; the inherited URL path does not change which island it is actually on.
Town Center and Pier
In summer, Gwo-ka and Zouk music and open-air concerts in the town center are described. Dates and whether events are held in a particular year should be checked for the latest information. At the Saint-Louis pier, you can watch the sunset at the end of the day. This is a local landmark, not a promise of restaurants or boat transfers. If you are looking for accommodation for cultural evenings, check its exact location in relation to the town center against the actual program.
Coves and Sensitive Trails
Anse Canot is about 4.5 kilometers away. The calm, shallow water is described as suitable for families, but swimming conditions and supervision should be checked on the day. The Sentier de l’Anse du Coq is moderately difficult; just before the beach, there is a steep, rocky descent of about 20 meters. The route description does not recommend it for children. The cliffs on the eastern side of Marie-Galante are an important refuge for seabirds. Gueule Grand Gouffre is also a viewpoint on the northern side of the island. Follow conservation and safety rules; not every viewpoint is a swimming spot.
Accommodation and Island Routes
Compare an actually advertised holiday home by its address in relation to the town center or your preferred cove, as well as its price and terms. Accommodation in Saint-Louis does not automatically mean Anse Canot is within walking distance. For other destinations in Guadeloupe, see the country overview; a Grande-Terre destination page would refer to the wrong island here.
