Haraki offers two clearly distinct beach profiles: Haraki Beach is mostly sandy, with occasional stretches of pebbles; nearby Agathi Beach has golden sand and clear water that remains shallow far from shore. Snorkeling, the walk to Agathi and the waterfront promenade add different activities to your stay.

Beaches and Snorkeling

The clear water at Haraki Beach is suitable for snorkeling; with a mask, you can explore the underwater world in Haraki’s clear waters. Together with the mostly sandy shore and occasional stretches of pebbles, this creates a beach profile that encompasses both the character of the shoreline and an activity in the water. For planning, you can consider these features separately: the sand-and-pebble mix concerns your time on the beach, while the clear water is relevant to exploring beneath the surface.

Nearby Agathi Beach offers a different point of comparison. Its sand is golden, and the clear water remains shallow far from shore. The differences from Haraki Beach are therefore not limited to the color of the sand: Haraki has occasional stretches of pebbles and is suitable for snorkeling, while at Agathi, the water staying shallow far from shore is a distinct feature. When comparing the two beaches, you can use shoreline character, snorkeling opportunities and water depth profile as separate criteria.

Walking Route and Feraklos Castle

From Haraki Beach, Agathi Beach is on the other side of the castle and can be reached by a walk of approximately 15 minutes. This gives you a practical timeframe if you want to visit both beaches in one day. Allow for the approximate walking time as a separate part of your plans; your time by the water comes on top of that. This lets you account for the walk to Agathi without treating beach time and walking time as the same thing.

Narrow walking paths run around the enclosure of Feraklos Castle. From the walls, you can look down towards Agathi Beach and, in the other direction, towards Haraki. These details offer different kinds of guidance: the walking time helps you plan the route to Agathi, while the castle paths offer views in two directions. Check current access in advance if you plan to use the narrow paths.

Waterfront Promenade and Summer Evening

In summer, people stroll along Haraki’s waterfront promenade and enjoy the sunset. Cafés, tavernas and shops are located at one end of the promenade. The location along this stretch can help with planning if you want to combine your walk with a visit to a restaurant or shop. Individual businesses and their availability may change. If you have a particular café, taverna or shop in mind, check its current availability.

The summer stroll offers a different focus from beach activities: it follows the promenade and is associated with the sunset. When choosing where to stay in Haraki, you can weigh whether the different beach features, snorkeling or a summer evening on the promenade matter most to you.
