Farsa offers different highlights for your stay: the history of Old Farsa, the Kalimera Walks and the small Limnioni jetty. The ruins stand alongside the modern houses of Fársa. On the walks, paths lead through Old Farsa to buildings and viewpoints; Limnioni offers a different focus, with its swimming ladders. When planning your trip, you can therefore first consider whether you would prefer a walk with local history or to focus on the jetty.

Old Farsa: Ruins and Panagia

The ruins of Old Farsa are considered a local attraction and stand alongside the modern houses of Fársa. This proximity makes the relationship between the historic village and present-day buildings part of the local landscape. Old Farsa can therefore be appreciated not only through individual remains: their connection with the modern houses is also part of the place’s tangible character.

The church of Panagia, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is located in Old Farsa. It was rebuilt at its original site after the 1953 earthquake. Its dedication and reconstruction offer two different points of connection with local history: the church’s religious purpose and its history after the earthquake. The original site remained unchanged during the reconstruction.

Kalimera Walks: Paths and Insights

The Kalimera Walks follow the original stepped path connecting the new village with Old Farsa. In Old Farsa, the route follows an approximately circular course along several paths to buildings and viewpoints. The walk thus offers both a path between the new village and Old Farsa and a route through Old Farsa itself. The approximate circular shape describes the route without specifying an exact loop.

On the Kalimera Walks, participants learn about the way of life and livelihoods of the villagers of Fársa. The architectural styles of the buildings in Old Farsa are also covered. Some of the buildings date from the Venetian period; this classification does not apply to all houses. For your visit, the walk therefore combines paths and viewpoints with insights into village life and its architectural styles.

At the end, participants return to the Footsteps headquarters and are offered a drink on the roof terrace. This stop is part of the end of the Kalimera Walks.

Limnioni as a Different Focus

Limnioni is a small jetty in Fársa with swimming ladders. This makes it quite different from the focus of the Kalimera Walks: here, the jetty itself is the main attraction, while the walk covers several paths, buildings and viewpoints in Old Farsa. The two highlights appeal to different interests, without needing to be combined into a single activity.

When planning your visit, it is therefore helpful to consider how you would like to spend your time. The Kalimera Walks offer a guided route with architecture and local history; Limnioni is a small jetty with swimming ladders. This lets you explore Farsa according to your preferred focus, rather than treating the ruins, walk and jetty as interchangeable attractions.
