Weston in the Halton district has several listed buildings and a church with community events. For a short stay, these documented places are more informative than the old blanket claim about inexpensive holiday homes. Check an accommodation based on its actual address and your purpose of visit.

Market Cross and historic buildings

The Market Cross, formerly known as the Market Steps, is a Grade II listed structure. Its steps date from the medieval period. The barn south of the Old Hall and the Cavendish Farm House are also Grade II listed buildings. The farmhouse is said to date from 1622. The Old Hall has two storeys, an attic and four bays with projecting gables at the ends of the building. This information allows for an architectural walk, but does not permit the claim that the houses are accessible inside or are museums. Please note ownership and access rules.

Church and local life

St John the Evangelist, in addition to services, mentions community lunches, coffee mornings, breakfasts, knitting and discussion groups, as well as home groups. Anyone who wishes to take part in an event must check a specific date and the conditions. A previous or described church programme does not mean daily opening. The church and historic buildings are different reasons to visit the village; only combine them with verified routes.

Accommodation for your stay

Compare available rooms or holiday homes by price, availability and location in relation to the places you want to visit. A list of listed buildings does not prove the existence of accommodation, nor free parking. The brief previous entry made an unsubstantiated claim about “inexpensive” rentals; a sound decision requires the specific individual offer.
