If you’re weighing up different experiences for a stay in Schlei-Ostsee, Damp offers a focus on the water, along with other specific points to help you plan. Its harbor, beach areas and coastal paths reveal different sides of the town. There’s also Viking golf, a swimming pool and an indoor play center. This gives you the option to consider whether you’re most interested in the harbor and beach, outdoor activities or other leisure options.

Harbor, beach and watersports

Damp harbor has a promenade, guest moorings and modern restroom facilities. A snack bar, ice cream and a supermarket add to the amenities on site. The marina has room for up to 365 boats across 14 piers. So, in addition to the beach areas, the harbor facilities are another option for a stay by the water.

The main beach has beach facilities as well as areas for dogs and nudists. Stand-up paddleboard rentals are available during the summer months. Surfing, sailing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and waterskiing are also possible. The activity beach and south beach are about four kilometers long. Before your trip, it’s a good idea to check the current beach conditions. The activity beach has accessible beach access; check the current conditions before your visit.

At the south beach, the net platform serves as both a hammock and a viewpoint, offering a place to rest during an active vacation. It is the only one anchored directly in the beach sand. As its condition depends on maintenance, check whether it is available for use before visiting.

Activities away from the beach

The Viking golf course, with 18 holes, is right on the beach promenade in Damp on the Schwansen peninsula. The Entdeckerbad has a large outdoor pool with views of the Baltic Sea. It is also home to Germany’s first Viking-style sauna. Its facilities offer a different focus from the beach activities; as features of the pool may change, check the current offerings before your visit.

Funhalla is an indoor play center covering more than 3,500 square meters. Waterskiing and wakeboarding are another way to enjoy the water: Damp’s waterski and wakeboard park is right on the Baltic Sea. Together with the beach activities, these offer a range of leisure options to consider when choosing your stay.

Coastal paths and history

The coastal path runs through the Schwansener See nature reserve, which is part of the Natura 2000 protected areas network. Another coastal hiking trail runs right by the water between OstseeResort Damp to the south and OstseeResort Olpenitz to the north. Both provide specific reference points to help you plan time by and near the water, without specifying a walking time or distance.

Gut Damp adds a historical dimension to the options: it was built in 1595 in the Renaissance style. With its beach, harbor, watersports and coastal paths, Damp offers several different points of interest to help you decide. You can choose which ones will shape your stay according to your own interests.
