The wide, fine sandy beach gives Damp a clear focus for a stay by the water. There is also a wakeboard park, a sauna complex and activities along the beach promenade. When choosing your accommodation, you can consider whether beach days, exercise or quieter moments are most important for your trip.

Main beach and beach rules

Damp’s main beach is fine, wide and sandy; the beach stretches for about 1,300 metres. This makes it a prominent point of reference when planning your day. Check the conditions separately when making plans to swim. The DLRG closely supervises swimming at the main beach; lifeguard supervision may vary by season. One of Damp’s two beaches is designated as a year-round dog beach. Before your trip, find out about the current rules for using the beach.

Activities on the water and on land

A full-size cable wakeboard park is located right next to Ostsee-Resort Damp. The facility offers opportunities for everyone from beginners to experts, with several features set above comparatively calm water. This adds a dedicated water sports option to the beach, particularly suited to travellers who want to be active on the water too.

For quieter moments, Damp’s sauna complex has eight different saunas. From some of the saunas and from the relaxation room, you can enjoy views of the Baltic Sea. As wellness offerings may change during renovations, it is a good idea to check the latest information before visiting.

For an activity on land, Wikingergolf Damp is located right on the beach promenade. The adventure golf course has 18 holes. Course layout and access rules may change; if you are planning your visit in advance, check these details beforehand.

Church and northern German cuisine

St. Elisabeth in Damp was built in 1983–84 and consecrated on 23 June 1984. The church is generally open daily and welcomes visitors. Access may differ during services or special closures, which you should bear in mind if you are planning a visit in advance.

Restaurant Gut Damp serves northern German cuisine made with seasonal and regional ingredients. As the restaurant concept or menu may change, it is worth checking the current offerings before dining.

Getting around on foot, by bus and by bike

Facilities, shops and restaurants in Damp are considered easy to reach on foot. This can make a car-free holiday easier. The facilities available may change.

To get there by public transport, take the regional train to Eckernförde and then continue to Damp on bus route 711. The bus journey from Eckernförde takes about 30 minutes. Check the timetable for your travel day before making firm plans to take this connection.
