A public 6-hole golf course, a 9-hole course with its own distinctive character, and Karls Erlebnis-Dorf give you different reasons to visit Warnsdorf. There is also a former gardener’s house and a landscape connection to the Aalbeek lowlands. For planning your trip, it helps to consider the specific differences between the attractions: they range from playing conditions and course design to a musical bird show, a tractor ride and historic architectural styles.

Golf by format and course profile

The public Maritim course is a 6-hole golf course where you can play without a golf proficiency certificate or club membership. The Warnsdorf course is the longest of the golf park’s three 9-hole courses. Long fairways, large bunkers and greens, many hedgerows, known as Knicks, and water hazards define its profile. The courses can therefore be compared in different ways: for the Maritim course, the number of holes and playing requirements are central; for the Warnsdorf course, it is the 9-hole format and the specific course design.

When choosing, you can weigh up whether playing without a golf proficiency certificate or club membership matters more to you, or whether the features of the longest 9-hole course do. These are concrete differences in format, conditions and layout, not a general ranking of the courses.

A show and a ride at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf

The Piep-Show at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Warnsdorf features numerous budgerigars in a bird aviary during a musical show. The tractor ride offers a different activity: visitors ride in tractor-shaped vehicles and can take several rounds. It is considered a family experience.

If you are choosing between the two, the Piep-Show focuses on a musical animal presentation, while the tractor ride is all about the ride itself. You can decide based on whether you would prefer a show or a ride with several rounds.

Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Warnsdorf also has a manufacturers’ market. As its operating status may change, check before your visit whether it will be open.

Architecture and nature

A specific historic detail is the former gardener’s house at Schloßstraße 8. In the East Holstein heritage register dated February 1, 2021, the house is listed as a single-storey red-brick building, built around 1910, with a fully hipped roof that has been converted for use. The property also includes the surrounding garden and a linden hedge.

A fully hipped roof has sloping surfaces on all sides, including the gable ends. Together with its single-storey design and red brick, it gives the house a clearly recognizable architectural profile; the garden and linden hedge complement the building with its associated outdoor spaces. This is a different focus from golf and the attractions at Karls: here, the emphasis is on the architectural style and the house’s former function as a gardener’s house.

Parts of Warnsdorf lie within the Aalbeek lowlands nature reserve. This connection to the landscape adds a natural dimension to the architectural and recreational attractions and applies specifically to parts of the area.
