Koserow offers a range of points of interest: medieval church history, a pier with an unusual shape, leisure activities, and opportunities for cycling and watersports. When choosing your destination, you can weigh up which focus best suits your stay.

Church, Pier and Art

The village church in Koserow is one of the oldest churches on the island of Usedom and the only medieval church on Usedom’s Baltic coast. For travellers who also base their choice of destination on history and architecture, this dual distinction is particularly striking: it connects Koserow with the island’s history and with a clearly defined feature of the Baltic coast.

The Koserow pier was completed in 2021, has an unusual shape and is almost 300 metres long. Compared with the medieval village church, it is a much more recent structure; together, the two buildings offer different perspectives on Koserow across time. The Koserow Art Salon has been a gallery and art dealership since 2006. For art lovers, it adds a distinct artistic focus to the area’s architecture and history.

Attractions with Different Focuses

Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Usedom in Koserow offers more than 50 attractions. Regular live demonstrations also show how wood-fired bread, jam, sweets and chocolate are made. The offer therefore combines a wide selection with practical demonstrations of food production. Demonstration times may change, so check the current schedule before your visit; individual attractions may also change.

Koserow’s minigolf facility has two courses with a total of 36 holes, and the existing natural tree cover is incorporated into the facility. Compared with the more than 50 attractions at Karls, this is a clearly defined offer with two courses. Koserow beach also has a dedicated sailing area for sailors and surfers. Seasonal access conditions may vary, so check them before making plans. The courses and sailing area offer different types of leisure activity.

Cycling and the Surrounding Landscape

Koserow is connected to the island of Usedom’s cycle network. If you are including a bike in your travel plans, this connection is a practical consideration. Route conditions can change, so check the current route and conditions before planning a ride.

Streckelsberg, near Koserow, is located close to the destination. It is a cliff-edge dune, formed during the last Ice Age as a push moraine, and has been a nature reserve since 1957. Coastal landforms, geological origins and protected status come together at this landscape feature. If you are interested in how the landscape was formed, Streckelsberg offers a different perspective from Koserow’s buildings, art and leisure activities.
