A lake in the park, walking paths with benches and a meadow beach with a large playground are among the specific things to enjoy in Siedenbollentin. The village church also offers a historic point of interest: it houses a GrĂĽneberg organ dating from 1874.
Park and lake: walks along the shore
Siedenbollentin’s park includes a lake with a bathing area. Numerous walking paths, lined with English oaks, silver birches and black alders, lead to Lake Siedenbollentin. Paths with benches invite visitors to stroll and linger along the shore. The lake is up to 370 metres long and 210 metres wide. The paths and benches offer two ways to spend time by the lake: you can walk along the shore or relax on a bench. This means the bathing area is not the only place to enjoy the water in the park.
Summer at the meadow beach
In summer, visitors can sunbathe at the meadow beach in Siedenbollentin. A large playground is right next to the beach, and the Finnhütte kiosk is right beside the playground. When planning your day, you can think of the beach and playground as neighbouring places within the lake area. In addition, anyone can visit Siedenbollentin in summer and cool off in the lake. If you plan to go into the water, check the local conditions beforehand. Sunbathing at the meadow beach and cooling off in the lake are two different ways to enjoy a summer’s day.
Winter activities
In winter, children can go sledding on the so-called toboggan hill in Siedenbollentin’s park. Ice hockey and skating on the lake, however, depend on the lake freezing over. If it does, anyone can sign up for an ice hockey tournament, play ice hockey with others or go skating. The activities differ in location and requirements: sledding takes place in the park, while ice sports on the lake require it to freeze over. If you are planning to take part in ice sports, check beforehand whether this condition has been met.
Village church and local events
Siedenbollentin Village Church houses a Grüneberg organ dating from 1874. It was the master’s 153rd work. The year dates the instrument to the 19th century, while its work number adds its place in the master’s oeuvre to this historical context. The organ is thus a point of cultural and historical interest alongside the activities available at the lake and in the park. Every summer, the sports centre in Siedenbollentin holds a popular football school. A past event date was 22 July 2017, when the park festival was held for the 53rd time as a traditional celebration. The football school and the park festival represent different points in time: the school takes place every summer, while the festival mentioned here is in the past.
The seasonal contrast is clear when choosing when to travel: sunbathing is a summer activity, while sledding is for winter; ice hockey and skating depend on the lake freezing over. You can therefore choose the seasonal focus of your stay based on specific activities.
