Historic Promenades and the Brothers Grimm Fairytale Trail

The Historic Promenades begin at the Romantik Bad Rehburg car park, Friedrich-Stolberg-Allee 4, 31547 Rehburg-Loccum. They pass viewpoints and resting places dedicated to members of the House of Welf. The Brothers Grimm Fairytale Trail also runs along the promenades in the Rehburg Hills. Fairytales and legends come to life there through wooden fairytale figures. Stations 1 to 22 form a circular trail about six kilometres long, which now begins in Drei-Teiche-Park. When planning, keep the respective starting points in mind: the Historic Promenades begin at the car park, while the fairytale trail circular route begins in Drei-Teiche-Park.

Forest Themes and Trail Lengths

The Forest Experience Trail in the Rehburg Hills is about 2.3 kilometres long and is integrated into the town of Rehburg-Loccum’s network of circular hiking trails. Interactive features provide information about the forest, trees and plants, as well as the animals that live there. Its focus is therefore on nature, while the Brothers Grimm Fairytale Trail centres on fairytales and legends featuring wooden figures. The trails also differ in length: at about 2.3 kilometres, the Forest Experience Trail is shorter than the approximately six-kilometre fairytale trail. The Romantik Bad Rehburg car park at Friedrich-Stolberg-Allee 4 is about 2.1 kilometres from the start of the Forest Experience Trail. When planning, keep two distances separate: the length of the trail and the distance from the car park to its starting point.

Romanticism, Spa History and Culture

Romantik Bad Rehburg is a unique architectural and cultural monument in Germany dating from the Romantic period. The New Bathhouse contains an exhibition in twelve former bathing rooms. It covers the Romantic period, historic spa life and the significance of water. Friederike Chapel is a unique monument of particular historical and artistic significance.
