Raddusch is located in the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve and combines nature trails, water activities and village history. The differences are clear for planning your trip: the Dragonfly Trail takes about an hour, the Moor Nature Trail is 13.5 kilometers long, and a signposted circular hiking trail leads through the village. The nature harbor also offers punt departures and other nature-related attractions.

Trails by distance and theme

The Dragonfly Trail starts at Raddusch Nature Harbor and is an easy art and experience trail. The one-way distance is listed as 2.0 kilometers, and the round-trip distance as 4.0 kilometers; it takes about an hour. This makes it easy to assess the shorter route if you are looking for a specific distance and approximate duration to help plan your trip.

At 13.5 kilometers, the Moor Nature Trail is considerably longer. You can explore it on foot or by bicycle. This gives you a choice of two different distances; with the Moor Nature Trail, you also have the option of cycling or walking. Please observe the nature reserve rules along this trail.

Nature harbor and activities on the water

The upgraded nature punt harbor is the starting point for trips into the Spreewald. It was established in 1999 as a departure point for waterway excursions. The nature harbor is also accessible to people with disabilities. In Raddusch, you can rent paddle boats, mostly two-seaters, and a few canoes by the hour or by the day. If you plan to rent a boat, check availability before your visit.

Dragonfly Park is located right at Raddusch Harbor. Models introduce children to the world of dragonflies, while two reclining benches provide a place to observe the insects. The park offers its own nature experience at the harbor, while the Dragonfly Trail combines art and the experience of walking the route.

Village history and historic sites

Slawenburg Raddusch is a reconstruction of a historic fortification, based on archaeological investigations carried out before open-cast lignite mining. As of August 31, 2026, it was closed to visitors until further notice. Check its visitor status before your visit if you plan to visit Slawenburg.

The Raddusch Historic Circular Trail is a signposted route through the village. Information boards explain the historical background of the stages in the village’s development. The local history museum is housed in the former home of the Müller family, right by the village square near the transformer house. Another historic site is the Raddusch Busch Mill: built on oak piles in 1777, it was used as a grain and oil mill.

Seasonal nature watching

During the nesting and care season, stork cameras at two nesting sites in Raddusch provide live views of the nests, as well as information about the white stork and its habitat. The cameras are not active year-round. This seasonal viewing opportunity differs from the dragonfly models and reclining benches at the harbor: here, the focus is on the stork nests and the white stork.
