Vogelbach is part of Wilfingen. The area offers a mix of natural and cultural attractions, including the Alb Gorge at TeufelskĂĽche and the St. Pantaleon Chapel. For hiking, cycling and winter tours, the wider destination of Dachsberg (Southern Black Forest) is also worth considering.

Nature and Culture in the Wider Wilfingen Area

The Alb Gorge, considered a wild stretch of the Alb, lies at TeufelskĂĽche. A walk leads to the gorge. There is also a shady natural bathing spot nearby, offering a seasonal option in summer for visitors to the area. The walk and the bathing spot offer different experiences: the gorge on one hand, and a summer swimming break on the other.

The St. Pantaleon Chapel in Wilfingen dates back to the 15th century. Its carillon sounds on the hour. Alongside the natural attraction, it offers a point of cultural and historical interest: the gorge invites visitors to take a walk, while the chapel is distinguished by its age and hourly chimes.

Hiking and Winter Trails in the Wider Destination of Dachsberg (Southern Black Forest)

Dachsberg and Ibach have an extensive network of trails for hiking, Nordic walking, cycling and winter tours. These include scenic trails across the high plateaus, forest paths and groomed winter hiking trails, whose seasonal availability depends on snow conditions. The trails are intended for local residents, day-trippers and visitors. The winter trails are seasonal and depend on snow conditions.

Since 2017, the Albsteig Black Forest has been a certified premium hiking trail. It runs from the mouth of the Alb near Albbruck to its sources on the Feldberg, climbing Dachsberg along the way and offering fantastic views from there. Its route thus follows the Alb from its mouth to its source area, with Dachsberg forming part of the trail.

Mining and Traditional Beekeeping

The mining trail in the wider destination of Dachsberg (Southern Black Forest) offers a different perspective. The route is about seven kilometres long and connects former mining sites. It can be started either at the Mineral Museum in Urberg or at the town hall in Wittenschwand. These two starting points provide clear guidance when planning this regional route.

The “Gottesehre” Mineral Museum in Dachsberg-Urberg uses a film and other media to provide information about the disused mine. Minerals from the mine are displayed in several showcases. In Dachsberg-Urberg, near the “Goldenhof,” the Zeidlerpfad, by contrast, explores historical honey production and beekeeping. It offers insights into traditional forest beekeeping and its ecological significance. The two attractions therefore have distinct focuses: the museum on mining and minerals, and the trail on historical beekeeping.
