A longer hiking route and a shorter running and walking trail in the park give La Tour-De-Salvagny two options for getting active, each with a different distance. There is also golf on two types of course, a church with distinctive works of art, and entertainment. You can tailor your stay around specific activities.

Hiking with a clear time estimate

The Boucle du Bois de la Lune is 9.7 kilometres long. The estimated duration is about 2 hours and 30 minutes, with an elevation gain of 94 metres; the starting point is Parking du Lac. The distance, approximate time and elevation gain give you concrete figures to use when planning your day. Check route conditions and any access restrictions before setting out.

Get active at Parc de l’Hippodrome

Parc de l’Hippodrome is a 20-hectare natural area used by people taking part in sports, walkers and families. The park has a 1.7-kilometre running and walking trail. Compared with the 9.7-kilometre Boucle, this is a much shorter route. These distances help you choose between a longer hike and a shorter run or walk, without treating the two as one continuous route.

Golf in two formats

Lyon Salvagny Golf Club has an 18-hole course and a compact 9-hole course. This gives you two formats to choose from if golf is part of your travel plans. The club grounds cover 72 hectares and are characterised by woods, numerous ponds and rolling terrain. The course formats and landscape offer different ways to approach the club’s golf facilities: you can take both the number of holes and the character of the terrain into account.

Church and art history

Église Saint Ennemond was completed in 1867 in the Neo-Romanesque style. Its 19th-century stained-glass windows are attributed to Lucien Bégule, a glass painter from Lyon. The church also houses a Cavaillé-Coll organ, originally installed in the chapel of Hôpital St-Luc in Lyon. The construction date and architectural style place the church in context; the windows and organ add the subjects of stained glass and the history of musical instruments.

The natural area of Vallons de Serres, des Planches et de la Beffe

La Tour de Salvagny works with Dardilly, Charbonnières-les-Bains, Ecully and the Métropole de Lyon to manage and enhance the remarkable natural and agricultural area of Vallons de Serres, des Planches et de la Beffe. Their shared policy aims to preserve the quality of the landscapes and natural environments and habitats, and to make the area accessible to the public. Preserving the landscape and habitats goes hand in hand with the goal of opening the area to the public.

Entertainment at Pasino GRAND

Pasino GRAND La Tour-de-Salvagny offers slot machines and traditional table games, including English roulette, blackjack, Ultimate Poker and craps. Access to gaming is subject to the operator’s terms. The poker room covers 300 square metres; weekly tournaments are also held. Shows, concerts and other entertainment are offered throughout the year, although individual programmes may change. Alongside nature and culture, the venue also offers gambling and events.

Arriving by train
