Discover Neffes through a variety of walking routes and cultural experiences: an easy mountain bike loop passes through the village, while a hike circles it. Other highlights include the Église de la Nativité, two chapels and the former washhouse. When planning your stay, you can choose to focus on outdoor activities, local history or regional products.

Mountain Biking and Hiking Routes

Le Rousine (VTT n°12 Bleu) is an easy, 16.2-kilometre mountain bike loop that passes through Neffes. Ya marne (VTT n°9 rouge), by contrast, reaches the village first via a descent on a track and then along a narrow path. This means Le Rousine, with its loop, distance and easy grading, can be compared with the described approach to Ya marne. Trail conditions can change; check the route before setting out.

The Tour de Neffes aux Bonnets is a circular hike around the village, open to everyone, along small roads and paths. Open sections offer views of Céüse, the Montagne de Charance and the Écrins; visibility varies with conditions. Between Céüse and the Durance, the route connects with the GR®93 and the GRP®. Another option is the Lac de Pelleautier–Tallard stage: in Neffes, it passes between the town hall and the church, then continues to the D 46. Your route choices therefore include a loop around the village and a stage leading to the D 46. Also check that the stage is available before setting out.

Heritage and Local History

The Église de la Nativité stands in Neffes. The village’s heritage also includes the Chapelle Saint-Romain de la Côte de Neffes and the Chapelle Saint-Jacques. The latter has been authentically preserved; near a heavily shaded fountain, it offers passing hikers a place to rest and relax. The former washhouse is at the entrance to Neffes, on the road to Pelleautier. The municipality restored the former washhouse in 2006. The Chapelle Saint-Jacques combines heritage with a resting place for hikers, while the washhouse’s location and restoration make it another point of connection with local history.

Regional Products

Le Pressoir Neffois offers wild hawthorn juice, fresh birch sap from early March to the end of May, and pasteurised birch sap year-round. Its products also include apple juice, oil infusions, soaps, liqueurs, a wild hawthorn aperitif, Génépi liqueur and Génépi sprigs, blueberry wine, walnuts, and local tourtons and ravioles. Visits are available on request; availability of other products may vary seasonally. The timing for birch sap is clear: the fresh variety is available from early March to the end of May, while the pasteurised variety is available year-round.
