For a stay in La Bollène-Vésubie, there is plenty to explore, from forests and water to local history, insects and regional cheeses. You can choose activities based on specific conditions: the Crêtes-de-l'Arpiha trail is a family-friendly panoramic trail, while the canyoning route on the Riou de la Bollène is suitable only for experienced participants. Other activities may depend on the season, access or current safety checks.
Forest trails and activities at Col de Turini
The Crêtes-de-l'Arpiha trail winds through the forest trails at Col de Turini. Fir, spruce, Scots pine, beech and larch grow along the panoramic trail. Check trail conditions before setting out.
The Riou de la Bollène canyoning route starts on the Turini road at an altitude of 833 m. This descent, with a very high volume of water, includes numerous jumps and large slides. It is suitable only for experienced participants; current safety checks are required. This makes it very different from the family-friendly panoramic trail.
A road cycling loop starts in the village of La Bollène-Vésubie and climbs steadily along a winding road to Col de Turini. If you are planning this route, check road conditions and any restrictions before setting off.
At Turini Camp d'Argent, Luge tubing lets you ride down a prepared slope in a large inflatable tube. Déval'Kart is an all-terrain kart activity designed specifically for downhill runs. The tube and the kart offer two different ways to descend. As seasonal operating schedules may change, confirm opening details before travelling.
Water and regional specialties
Les trois Marmites in the Vallée de La Vésubie is a river swimming spot with an emerald-green pool and a 15 m natural waterfall slide. Water conditions and safety may vary by season. Take this into account when planning and check conditions on site.
The Crêtes-de-l'Arpiha trail passes by the Vacherie de Mantégas. From July to September, local cheeses such as Tomme and Brousse are available there with regular tastings. If you are planning to take advantage of this, confirm access and visit availability on site.
Church, museum and mill
The Église Saint-Laurent is a single-nave Baroque church. It was completed in 1725 and consecrated in 1728. The church also houses a large-scale 18th-century painting by Garsini, which was classified in 1908. The building’s history and the painting give a visit to the church a distinctive cultural and historical focus.
The Musée d'entomologie du Dr Willy Hansen displays regional and exotic insect species and illustrates the diversity of the insect world. Admission is free; a reservation through the tourist information office in La Bollène-Vésubie is required. As visiting arrangements may change, confirm them in advance.
The Moulin à grain is located opposite the village square. The grain mill was formerly used to grind wheat, corn and other grains into flour or semolina. Individual guided tours are available on request; check whether a visit is possible on site.
Traces of the Second World War
The Forteresse de l'Authion can be explored along a marked historical loop trail. Preserved remains from the Second World War include the ruins of barracks at Cabanes Vieilles. Be aware that some ruins may pose a hazard.
