Hiking and fruit growing are two practical ways to plan a stay in La Ferrière-Bochard. The GR®36 runs through the commune, while the orchards and a cellar visit are the focus at Verger de la Daguenèterie. Natural surroundings, motorsport and cultural history offer further perspectives.
Hiking on different routes
The official 2025 tourism map shows the GR®36 running through La Ferrière-Bochard. Before setting out, check the trail conditions if you plan to include this route in your itinerary.
The GRP Tour de la Mayenne profonde is a 170-kilometre circular hiking route, and La Ferrière-Bochard is listed among its towns. The two hiking routes therefore relate to the commune in different ways: La Ferrière-Bochard lies along the GR®36, while it is listed as a town on the GRP. The 170 kilometres refer to the full circular route. A circular route generally returns to its starting point.
Orchards and a cellar visit
Verger de la Daguenèterie has eight hectares of orchards with more than twenty varieties of apples and pears. The farm is also listed as an organic producer. The Verger welcomes visitors to its cellar by appointment and presents its products there. For travellers interested in fruit growing, this combines an agricultural focus with a specific type of visit: arrange an appointment in advance.
Regional natural areas
La Ferrière-Bochard is part of the Parc Naturel Régional Normandie-Maine. Within the Les Alpes Mancelles tourism area, the commune belongs to the Orne section. The regional nature park and the tourism area refer to different regional affiliations.
The Natura 2000 site “Vallée du Sarthon et affluents” (FR2502015) also extends over part of the commune. It is a Special Area of Conservation, designated by ministerial order on 8 April 2016. Unlike the regional nature park affiliation, this conservation area covers part of the commune.
Motocross and cultural history
Circuit Motocross Des Sources is located in La Ferrière-Bochard. On 31 May 2026, it hosted an official motocross event with the categories Espoirs 85cc under 12, Espoirs 85cc over 12, Motocross and MX Vétéran Normand. The event date has passed, so it should be considered a past event.
Another cultural and historical point of interest is Parc du château de la Ferrière. The grounds are located in La Ferrière-Bochard and are not protected.
When looking for a holiday rental, you can use the purpose of your trip as a selection criterion: hiking on the GR®36 or a visit to the Verger arranged by appointment. Check trail conditions for your hike and arrange the cellar visit in advance.
