Estadens offers several clear points of interest for trip planning: two mountain bike routes, hiking around Col de Larrieu, and the Résurgence de Saint-Paul near the Chapelle Saint-Paul de Pujos. Le Bois du Thouas N°34 is an official blue-rated cross-country circuit; the Col de Larrieu Flow Trail N°53 descends toward the hamlet of Bataille. The spring offers a different natural attraction. When choosing, you can therefore distinguish between a circuit, a descent, and a spring outlet.

Mountain biking: circuit and flow trail

Le Bois du Thouas N°34 is an official, blue-rated cross-country mountain bike circuit by Cagire Garonne Salat. It starts in front of the Estadens town hall and passes through pleasantly shady woodland. The starting point and the circuit format are distinct reference points for planning: the town hall marks the start, while the circuit format describes the type of route. The woodland adds a scenic character to these features. Compared with N°53, the main difference is the route format: Le Bois du Thouas is classified as a cross-country circuit, while the downhill section and descent features define the character of the Flow Trail.

The Col de Larrieu Flow Trail N°53 passes through the municipal forest of Estadens and then descends toward Estadens. The descent to the hamlet of Bataille includes berms, tables, and rollers. These trail features are part of the described descent; they give the route a different profile from the Le Bois du Thouas circuit. This gives you specific features to compare: a circuit and its rating on one hand, and a descent and individual trail elements on the other. Routes and trail conditions may change. Check both before setting out.

Hiking and planned facilities at Col de Larrieu

An agreement signed in 2023 names Estadens and Chein-Dessus as the municipalities associated with the multi-use hiking area at Col de Larrieu. It provided for a shared starting area for hiking, horse riding, and cycling. It also planned a 300-meter green-rated flow trail for beginner mountain bikers. The starting area and flow trail should be understood as plans, not as confirmed current offerings. Check the signage and supervision before relying on the agreement; also verify the current status of the planned trail before riding it. The blue rating of Le Bois du Thouas and the planned green rating at Col de Larrieu refer to different routes.

The Résurgence de Saint-Paul

The Résurgence de Saint-Paul is a spring that emerges from a cave near the Chapelle Saint-Paul de Pujos. The spring outlet gives this place a different focus from the two cycling options: the emphasis here is on a spring emerging from a cave, not on a circuit or a descent. The nearby chapel offers another specific point of reference. When comparing nature and cycling interests as you plan your trip, you can consider the Résurgence as a separate attraction alongside the mountain bike routes.
