The Goulier Neige ski area has 8 km of ski slopes between 1,500 m and 1,850 m in altitude. Together with the division into three difficulty levels, this provides a concrete starting point for planning your trip. The season’s operating schedule may vary; snowshoeing and summer hiking are also subject to changing conditions.
Skiing at Goulier Neige
The ski area includes one black, two green, two blue and two red slopes. The green and blue slopes are considered suitable for beginners. This allows you to choose slopes according to difficulty, while the altitude indicates the ski area’s range. Goulier Neige also has secured off-piste areas. Whether these can be used depends on snow and safety conditions.
Slope routes and ratings may change over time, and the season’s operating schedule may vary. Check the latest operating information before your trip. This lets you use the stated kilometres of slopes and difficulty levels as a guide without assuming they reflect actual operations on your travel dates.
For a break, there is a dining area and a lounge where you can bring your own food and warm up. Facilities may change; if needed, check the latest information before your visit.
Mountain scenery and hiking options
Goulier Neige is at the foot of Pique d’Endron, whose summit is 2,472 m high. The resort is also located in the Pyrénées ariégeoises Regional Nature Park. This means that, alongside the ski slopes, the mountain scenery and the protected-area designation are also part of the picture when considering your stay.
A snowshoe hike through the forest around Goulier Neige is another winter option. You can look for animal tracks in the snow along the way. Snow and access conditions determine whether the hike is suitable for your travel dates.
For summer, local skiers describe the summit of La Pique d’Endron above the resort as a very beautiful hiking route. If you plan this hike, ask locally about route conditions.
Via ferrata, getting there and culture
Montcalm Aventure offers two via ferrata routes above Goulier on the Route de Goulier. Availability and access conditions may change; check the operator’s latest information before visiting. One restriction applies to Montcalm Aventure’s private via ferrata: access with your own equipment is strictly prohibited.
To get there, take the D8 towards Auzat/Vicdessos, then the D208 from Vicdessos towards Goulier. Check current road conditions before setting off.
A cultural landmark in the village is the First World War memorial. It consists of two commemorative plaques mounted on the exterior wall of Saint-Michel Church. The memorial and mountain activities show different aspects of a stay: historical remembrance in the village, and nature and sports around Goulier Neige.
