Saint-Nabord combines an extensive forest with bodies of water, geological features and signposted trails. The forest covers more than 2,089 hectares. When planning your trip, you can focus on nature, outdoor activities on the trails, or insights into local history.

Forests, ponds and geological traces

Étang de la Demoiselle is a 15-hectare pond of glacial origin. It is a Natura 2000 site, recognised for the reproduction of insects and for seven recorded animal species of national and regional interest. A circular trail goes around the pond; information panels focus on its fragile ecosystem. The ecological significance of the body of water is therefore part of this natural setting, alongside the landscape.

The Moraine de Noirgueux consists of four moraine ridges formed by a glacier about 15,000 years ago. An educational trail is linked to local history during the Second World War. Geological formation and local history meet here as two distinct themes.

Étang de Huchère lies in the heart of the Saint-Nabord state forest. You can visit it independently and free of charge on signposted trails. Check local conditions before your visit. This lets you combine time by the water with a walk through the state forest.

Explore the signposted routes

The mountain biking trails in Saint-Nabord cover a total of almost 90 kilometres of signposted routes. The trail centre brings together mountain biking trails, the TSN and signposted trails maintained by the Club Vosgien. It includes six signposted circular routes, one of them for Nordic walking, starting at Stade des Perrey. There are four starting points for the mountain biking trails, at Les Perrey or the Arboretum; the trails cross the municipality. The mountain biking trails are considered suitable for families and experienced mountain bikers. Check the current availability of the routes before setting out.

One specific hiking option is “La stèle de Noirgueux”: it is 11.2 kilometres long, takes 2 hours and 45 minutes, and has an elevation gain of 114 metres. The route is marked with a blue disc. Its distance, estimated time and elevation gain give you different reference points for planning this hike.

Local history and viewpoints

The Maison du patrimoine has been located in the centre of the village since 2006, in a former 18th-century presbytery. It displays kitchen and dining-room furnishings from the early 20th century, including furniture, crockery and kitchen utensils. If you would like a cultural focus alongside nature and hiking, it offers a distinct perspective on everyday life at the time.

The Belvédère de Montiroche offers panoramic views of Remiremont and has a permanent bench. It can be reached from the Rond Caillou car park in the municipality of Saint-Nabord. Check local parking information before your visit.
