A stay in Égreville can be shaped by art, local history or outdoor activities. The Musée-jardin Bourdelle displays its sculptures in a 7,000 m² garden inspired by Art Deco. The Musée-jardin features 58 monumental sculptures and also displays bronzes by Antoine Bourdelle. Art lovers can therefore focus on both the works and the garden’s design.

Château and historic buildings

The Château in Égreville is listed in France’s Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments (I.S.M.H.). It is privately owned and cannot be visited. Massenet bought the Château in 1899 and had it restored again. Les Champarts et la Recette were formerly the Château’s outbuildings; the main section dates from the 15th century. This makes it possible to distinguish different chapters of local history: the later restoration of the Château and the preserved historic dating of the outbuildings.

Church and market hall: building history in the town

The Eglise Saint-Martin was rebuilt in the 15th century after being damaged during the Hundred Years’ War. Its bell tower formerly served as a watchtower. In the 16th century, it was incorporated into the church and converted into its main entrance. The church is inaccessible during services and private events.

La Halle d'Egreville also tells of a change in the town centre: at the end of the 15th century, it replaced an earlier market hall that had been destroyed in the fire of 1282. The church and hall add two more buildings with distinct historical associations to the story of the Château.

Hiking trail and golf

The signposted Egreville – Le bois de la Brandelle hiking trail is marked with yellow Codérando waymarkers. It first runs along the edge of the forest, then through woodland along the Noues valley. The waymarkers and the landscape give the route its distinctive character; the description moves from the forest edge to a wooded stretch in the valley.

Golf des Bruyères offers two different ways to play: a 9-hole course measuring 2,393 m and a 1,112 m pitch-and-putt course approved under international FIPPA rules. The number of holes, type of play and length provide concrete points of comparison. Golf des Bruyères is open to the public; no licence is required. As operating details may change, check the current conditions before you travel. The 9-hole course is 1,281 m longer.

The activities therefore offer clear choices for planning: the hiking trail follows waymarkers through forest and valley landscapes, while golf offers two courses with specified formats. Art and historic buildings provide a distinct cultural focus.
