Forest, Marsh and Tree Knowledge
The Bois de Chambray covers 25 hectares and is close to the town center. It is home to the “Fosse Piqueuse,” one of the few visible peat bogs in the department. The “Sentier découverte du bois” offers a different focus on nature: it teaches visitors about trees, with nearly 20 tree species identified along the trail. The themes named are therefore clearly distinct—peat bogs and tree knowledge. Hiking: Distance, Time and Navigation
Four signposted hiking routes in Chambray-Lès-Tours range from 1.5 to 13 kilometers. The “Sentier entre lac et bois” is listed as seven kilometers long, with a walking time of two hours. The lakeside loop “Tour du lac” is connected to this trail: it is 1.5 kilometers long and accessible to people with reduced mobility. By comparison, the lakeside loop is shorter; for the longer trail, a walking time is given in addition to the distance. The hiking trails are considered safe routes. A sign showing the route is posted near the starting point of each trail, so you can see where it goes before setting off. This complements the distance information with practical guidance before you begin.
Swin Golf and Horse Racing
The Swin golf course is located within the Chambray-Lès-Tours racecourse and has 18 holes across 13 hectares. The racecourse holds horse races every year on a 1,300-meter grass track. Culture in Town
The Médiathèque de Chambray-Lès-Tours is a 1,028 m² cultural space. At the foot of the Porte des Arts stands “Méandres,” a six-meter-high sculpture made of Carrara marble. This brings together a cultural space with a specific area and an individual work of art with clearly stated material, height and location.
La TITE Compagnie is a professional theater company in Chambray-Lès-Tours and organizes theater workshops and classes each year for children, teenagers and adults. Activities are listed for 2025–2026. “Un dimanche au vert” took place in Chambray-Lès-Tours in 2025 as its eighth consecutive edition.
