Saint-Pierre-Quiberon draws your attention to the coast: the CĂ´te Sauvage is shaped by wind-swept cliffs, perched dunes and striking coastal landmarks. There are also beaches for different activities, coastal paths, water sports, and megalithic and cultural sites. This gives you the option to plan your stay around the scenery, outdoor activities or culture.

Wild Coast, Harbour and Megaliths

The coastal path from Portivy runs along the wild coast of Saint-Pierre-Quiberon, within the Grand site de France Dunes Sauvages de Gâvres à Quiberon. Its features include wind-swept cliffs, perched dunes, Port Bara, the arch at Port Blanc and Pointe du Percho. Portivy is the only harbour on the Côte Sauvage and was a fishing harbour in the 20th century. The two passage tombs near Pointe du Percho have been classified as historic monuments since 1889. The dates refer to different things: for the harbour, they concern its use; for the dolmens, their classification. Pointe du Percho is a shared reference point: it is one of the striking coastal landmarks, and the passage tombs are nearby.

Beaches and Water Sports

Activities on the beaches of Saint-Pierre-Quiberon include shore fishing, swimming, walking and relaxing. Surfing, kitesurfing, land yachting, kayaking and diving take place on both the bay side and the ocean side. Exact locations and seasonal options may vary. Having options on both sides gives you a choice of more than one coastal setting for water sports; however, the specific location may depend on the activity and season.

At the Isthmus of Penthièvre, the Nature School Quiberon offers lessons in surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and land yachting, as well as coastal walks and equipment hire. The Société des Régates de Saint-Pierre offers sailing lessons, trips out to sea, wingfoiling, e-foiling, kitesurfing, raids and regattas; you can also hire equipment there. The difference is clear when choosing the type of activity that suits you: the Nature School lists coastal walks and stand-up paddleboarding, while the Société lists sailing lessons, trips out to sea, wingfoiling, e-foiling, raids and regattas. The Nature School’s operating periods and lesson availability, as well as the Société’s schedules and availability, may change. If a particular lesson or date is important, check the details in advance.

Walking Trails and Cycling Routes

The yellow-marked “Kerhostin–Portivy–Côte sauvage” walking trail starts in Saint-Pierre-Quiberon and is 10 km long. Check the signage and trail conditions locally. The “Trésors du Morbihan” app offers two free megalithic routes in Saint-Pierre-Quiberon: an approximately 3 km walking route, “En rang les monolithes,” and a 20 km cycling route, “Paysages de Mégalithes.” You can compare the three routes by length and mode of travel: approximately 3 km on foot, 10 km on foot and 20 km by bike.

Micro-Folie Saint-Pierre-Quiberon is a free cultural venue open to everyone. It features a digital museum, virtual reality headsets and a FabLab. This gives you an alternative to coastal paths and water sports. Programme details may change; if you have a specific event in mind, check the latest information.
