Le Cours brings together woodland, hiking trails and a rich local heritage. If you are looking for a holiday rental, you can plan your stay around what matters most: hiking through wooded and rural landscapes, enjoying nature close to the village, or exploring the history of the Chapelle de Priziac. The annual festival also offers a specific date to plan around. You can decide in advance whether landscape, trails or history is the main focus of your trip.

Woodland and hiking trails

Woodland covers 40% of the municipality of Le Cours. The wooded valley of Le Cosquet is an exceptional natural area close to the village centre. These two details describe different scales: the woodland share refers to the municipality as a whole, while Le Cosquet is a specific natural area near the centre.

A hiking route listed in the Morbihan département’s PDIPR starts in the wooded valley of Pont-Dremo. In addition, a 12-kilometre PR hiking trail runs through rural and wooded landscapes in Le Cours. The PR trail has a stated distance and landscape character; the Pont-Dremo route starts in the valley.

The GR de Pays Vannes-Lauvaux also passes through Le Cours and continues through the wooded, hilly Landes de Lanvaux massif to Rochefort-en-Terre. It is marked in red and yellow. Trail conditions and markings can change, so check for current information before setting out.

Chapelle de Priziac and local heritage

The Chapelle de Priziac has been documented since the 12th century. It was altered in the 15th century and in the centuries that followed, and is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady. Its history therefore includes both an early documented mention and later structural changes, as well as a religious dedication.

The Chapelle de Priziac festival takes place every year on the last Sunday in July. The festival includes a traditional Mass followed by a communal meal. The exact calendar date and programme may change. If you would like to plan your trip around the festival, check the latest dates and programme details in advance.

Le Cours’ local heritage also includes 27 old bread ovens within the municipality. Their condition varies. They broaden the picture of local heritage beyond the Chapelle de Priziac.

Getting here

The exits from the expressway between Vannes and Ploërmel are about a five-minute drive from the centre of Le Cours. This is an approximate driving time, which can be affected by traffic and road conditions. If you are travelling by car, it gives you a rough idea of the journey to the centre; check it against the current route.
