Inzinzac-Lochrist can be explored through a wide range of themes: the history of its forges, trails in the Forêt de Trémelin and activities on the Blavet. When planning your visit, it is worth looking at the specific differences between the options—from historical exhibitions and a weekly market to various routes, water sports and seasonal activities.

Market and Industrial History

The Marché des producteurs à Lochrist is a weekly market featuring local producers and craftspeople. It takes place on Saturdays. Check the current date before visiting, as market times may change.

The Écomusée des Forges presents local industrial history through photographs, eyewitness accounts, tools and work clothes. The focus is on the history of the forges, which were founded in 1860 and closed in 1966. Personal accounts and objects from working life offer different ways to connect with the past. This makes it possible to explore the history not only through dates, but also through memories and work materials.

One specific figure from the history of the Forges d’Hennebont: in 1936, they employed 3,000 people.

Forest Trails and Viewpoints

The Forêt de Trémelin covers more than 700 hectares. One easy hiking option is the Circuit de la Forêt de Trémelin: the route is 6.5 kilometres long and starts at the Kermainguy car park. For a mountain biking route, the Circuit du Lavoir offers a different challenge. This difficult route is 12.4 kilometres long and passes through the Bois de Trémelin and around the Étang du Ty Mat. The two routes are clearly distinct in length, activity and difficulty.

The Parcours sensoriel de la Charbonnière also leads into the Forêt de Trémelin, but has a different focus: here, you can explore the forest through your different senses. This is a distinct way to experience nature, separate from any particular hiking or mountain biking route.

Another natural attraction is the 7-hectare Parc du Bunz, with views over the Blavet valley. Paths lead to several viewpoints; from one of them, you can enjoy an unobstructed view over the Blavet. The forest and the park differ considerably in size, while both offer paths and nature experiences.

Activities on the Blavet

The Parc d’Eau Vive is located on Île de Locastel on the Blavet. Its purpose-built kayaking course includes currents, rapids, obstacles and slalom gates. The Parc d’Eau Vive also offers separate descents along several routes. The stated duration ranges from half a day to several days—a useful distinction when deciding how much time to set aside for this activity.

West Park has a 500-metre course for wakeboarding, water skiing and kneeboarding; these activities are available from age 8. Electric boats that do not require a licence are also available there for exploring the Blavet. Equipment availability and activity details may change, so it is advisable to check the latest information before your visit.

West Aqua Park is another water-based attraction: its inflatable obstacle course is open to visitors aged 6 and over and supervised by lifeguards. It operates seasonally, and access conditions may also change. Check the latest information before making plans. The age limits apply to the respective offerings: age 8 for West Park activities and age 6 for the West Aqua Park course.
