The Viaduc de Trégrom is a three-arch bridge built between 1860 and 1863. A 120 m-long footpath crosses the structure. This makes it possible to combine a stay with a piece of engineering history and a practical route option. There is also the signposted Circuit du Viaduc and the short Parcours An Dro Berr, which differ in length, layout and time required.

Hiking Trails and Navigation

The Circuit du Viaduc starts in Trégrom and forms a 5.1 km loop. Green-and-yellow markings lead past the Lavoir St-Brandan, then descend to the bathing area. The Parcours An Dro Berr starts in the parish precinct, is 1.3 km long, is classified as an easy hike and takes about 25 minutes. Different criteria can help you choose: An Dro Berr gives an approximate time frame for a short, easy walk; the Circuit is a longer, signposted loop with stops at the washhouse and bathing area.

At the bathing area, the car park provides access to the GR 34A. Another path passes through the opening beneath the third arch of the Viaduc de Trégrom. It is intended for hikers and provides an out-and-back route to the former Moulin du Vicomte. Check the conditions on site before planning to use the passage. The car park and the passage are different points of reference: one provides access to the GR 34A, while the other leads onto the path to the former mill.

Chapel, Church and History

The Chapelle de Christ dates from the first half of the 16th century and has been listed as a Monument historique since 2015. The year 2015 refers to the listing, not the chapel’s construction date. Its features include a polychrome wooden gallery from the 17th to early 18th century, assembled from carved panels from a former rood screen. A rood screen is an architectural partition between the choir and the nave. The panels therefore come from an earlier structure and were reused in the later gallery. The chapel’s construction and its furnishings thus belong to different historical periods.

Events celebrating traditional crafts and occupations are held every year in mid-August on the parvis of the Chapelle de Christ. If you plan to attend, check the specific dates in advance. The church of Saint-Brandan is open only by prior request to the mairie. Contact the mairie in advance to arrange a visit. The planning requirements differ: for the events, check the specific dates; for the church, make a request in advance.

Menhirs of Keranscot

Northeast of Keranscot stands Men-Bras, a 6.2 m-high Neolithic granite menhir. As an archaeological counterpart to the Chapelle de Christ, it brings a much earlier period into view. Its precise location and the name Men-Bras provide a clear point of reference in Trégrom for this prehistoric monument.
