Lanleff offers two distinct points of interest for a stay: the Rotonde dite Temple de Lanleff as an architectural landmark, and the Circuit du Temple through the wooded Leff Valley. The GR®P Trégor Goëlo also brings the Temple to life along its route. This gives you architectural history, landscape and individual events to choose from when planning your trip, without requiring a fixed sightseeing itinerary.

Temple de Lanleff: Architecture and Monument History

The inner rotunda of the Temple de Lanleff has twelve arcades. The Temple also has two concentric enclosures in the Early Romanesque style. Concentric means that the enclosures are arranged around the same center; the term describes their spatial relationship. For architecture enthusiasts, this offers two specific aspects to consider: the layout of the inner rotunda and the arrangement of the enclosures. The twelve arcades belong to the inner rotunda; the Early Romanesque style classification refers to the two enclosures.

The ruins of the Rotonde dite Temple de Lanleff were classified as a historic monument under the 1889 list. The year refers to this classification, not to the construction of the building. The Temple may be the oldest still-visible High Middle Ages structure in Côtes-d’Armor, perhaps even in Brittany. This puts a specific classification date alongside a tentative assessment of its age: 1889 relates to heritage protection, while the possible ranking concerns the High Middle Ages building.

Wooded Valley and Trails: Different Perspectives

The Circuit du Temple runs through the wooded Leff Valley. The GR®P Trégor Goëlo, in turn, brings the Temple to life along its route. The two trails therefore offer different emphases: the Circuit focuses on the valley as a landscape, while the Temple is an experience along the GR®P route. This gives you a specific choice to consider when planning: would you rather focus your stay on a landscape route or on the Temple as a cultural point of interest? This way, architectural history and nature can be considered as separate interests.

Events with Specific Dates

For plant enthusiasts, the Marché aux Plantes de Lanleff offers specific points of reference tied to particular years. At the 2024 edition, carefully selected local nursery growers were represented; in 2026, the market held its ninth edition, with around 30 professional exhibitors. Karaoke was also part of the Les Vendredis de Lanleff program at the close of summer 2026. The market and karaoke are different occasions. If you want an event to determine your travel dates, check the dates and program for the edition you have in mind.

This suggests a simple way to choose your stay: the Rotonde and its architecture offer a cultural and historical focus, while the Circuit provides a landscape perspective on the wooded valley. A market or program date, by contrast, is a time-specific reason to visit. If you choose Lanleff because of an event, plan around the specific year. For a trip independent of the event calendar, you can choose architectural history or the valley route as your main focus.
