The Guébriand flows through Landébia and empties into a pond where fishing is permitted. There are also numerous walking trails, cycling routes and historic buildings dating from various centuries. When planning a stay, you can choose between time by the water, exploring on foot or by bike, and cultural history.
Water, Woods and Trails
The Guébriand stream is a defining feature of the landscape in Landébia: it flows through the village and empties into a pond where fishing is permitted. Landébia also borders the La Hunaudaye forest. The surrounding countryside offers opportunities for family outings and walks starting from Landébia.
There are numerous walking trails in Landébia, as well as cycling routes. The network of trails in the surrounding area leads towards the Château fort de la Hunaudaye. This gives you a choice of different activities: strolls and hikes, cycling trips, or an excursion towards the château. Which ones you include in your trip depends on whether you prefer to explore on foot, plan a bike ride, or choose a destination with historical significance.
Church, Crosses and Spring
The Church of Saint-Eloi dates from the 15th century and was restored between 1872 and 1875. It replaced a 12th-century building whose foundation is attributed to the Knights Templar. The two dates therefore refer to different building phases: the predecessor building and the later church, which was restored.
Crosses are also among the historic monuments identified in Landébia. The stone cemetery cross was listed as a protected historic monument by decree dated 14 September 1964. The Croix Dom Jan, also known as Dom Jean or the Croix de Saint-David, dates from 1545. The Calvaire Croix Dom Jan was classified as a protected historic monument by decree dated 21 September 1938.
Another part of the village’s history is the Saint-Eloi spring. It is protected by a stone and brick structure dating from the 19th century. Together, the church, crosses and spring offer different points of interest for a cultural and historical walk through Landébia, even though they do not all date from the same period.
Getting Here and Planning Your Trip
Landébia lies on the road between Plancoët and Lamballe and is served by the SNCF railway line between Dinan and Lamballe. You can take both of these transport connections into account when planning your journey. If you plan to travel by train, check the timetable for your travel dates. Landébia is also close to the sea and its beaches. So when choosing the focus of your trip, you can consider the coast as well as trails and woodland.
Find a Holiday Rental to Suit Your Trip
If you are looking for a holiday rental, first decide what you would like your days in Landébia to revolve around: walks in the forest, hikes, cycling routes, fishing at the pond, or historic buildings. The proximity of the sea and beaches may also be a factor in planning your trip. Choose accommodation based on the activities you actually plan to do, and when considering your journey, take into account whether the road connection or railway line suits your plans.
