In Laveyssière, sacred heritage and a local history shaped by water go hand in hand with opportunities for outdoor activities. Église Notre-Dame de la Nativité stands in the village centre on the banks of the Eyraud. The Boucle de Viradis trail runs through pine forest, heathland and broom; at AccroZarbres, adventure courses and zip lines take centre stage. This means you can choose between culture, a walk and other activities during your stay.

Church and Local History

Église Notre-Dame de la Nativité dates back to the 13th century. Since 1897, it has housed the statue of the Santissima Bambina. This connects the site’s long history as a church with a specific religious tradition that dates back to the late 19th century. Together with its location on the Eyraud, it gives a clear impression of how the church and landscape are part of the village’s character.

The waterways also tell different stories about Laveyssière. Numerous springs flow into the Eyraud stream. Canals cross the area and once powered three mills. The springs feed the stream, while the canals recall the former use of water power. If you are interested in heritage, the village’s history of water and mills offers another point of interest alongside the church.

Walking the Boucle de Viradis

The Boucle de Viradis is 3.5 km long and starts at Place de l’église. Suitable for families, this walking route follows sandy paths through pine forests, heathland and broom. The different landscape features give the route its distinctive character: it combines sections of woodland with more open heathland and broom. If you would like to include a walk in your stay, the stated distance provides a useful guide for choosing a route. As conditions on local paths can change, it is best to check them before setting out.

Courses and Nature at AccroZarbres

AccroZarbres has twelve progressive adventure courses, including two sports courses and a children’s course. The zip lines run through five hectares of oak and pine forest. There is also a mini-golf course beneath the trees. The activities offer different experiences: the courses provide a graduated adventure, while mini-golf offers another activity. If you are planning a visit with children, the dedicated children’s course is a useful point of reference. Check in advance whether the mini-golf course will be available during your visit.

An Activity with the Terra Aventura App

Laveyssière also offers the Terra Aventura activity “Retour aux Sources”. It is played using the free Terra Aventura smartphone app. If you plan to take part, make sure you have a smartphone with the app installed. This activity differs from a walk on the Boucle de Viradis: here, the app is part of the game, whereas the walking route is described by its length and landscape. Both options offer a distinct way to experience a stay in Laveyssière, and you do not need to combine them into a set itinerary.

AccroZarbres and “Retour aux Sources” add their own activities to these highlights. Choose what suits your travel plans, and check the conditions for each activity in advance if they are important to your visit.
