Nový Přerov offers several distinct points of interest for a stay: winegrowing, a historic church, steppe vegetation and a cycling loop. Of the municipality’s 610 hectares, 120 hectares are vineyards. These figures give the wine-growing landscape a concrete scale. Depending on whether cycling, local history or nature is your priority, different themes will take centre stage.

Cycling route and activities for children

The 26.7-kilometre Mikulov–Nový Přerov–Mikulov cycling loop passes through Mikulov, Březí, Dobré Pole and Nový Přerov. It runs mostly away from motorised traffic and is suitable for families with children as well as inline skaters. When planning, take the full loop distance into account and check the conditions before setting off. This lets you make the ride a distinct part of your stay without assuming a particular journey time.

Jáňův dvůr also has a small animal area where children can meet domestic animals. This provides families with another specific activity alongside cycling, if they would like to add something for children to their stay.

Local history and architecture

The Church of St Michael the Archangel originated as a Baroque chapel built in 1600; about 90 years later, it was expanded into a church. Inside is a sandstone cross with Christ dating from 1847. The village square is home to a statue of St John of Nepomuk, which is a cultural monument. Another statue, of St Florian, stands in front of the town hall. Together, the church and the two statues offer different points of interest if you are interested in religious architectural history and depictions of saints in the local landscape.

Steppe landscape and protection plans

North of Nový Přerov are steppes with halophytic, or salt-loving, vegetation. Přerovský vrch, near the Austrian border, has notable examples of steppe vegetation with protected warmth-loving flora. The two descriptions highlight different aspects: salt-loving vegetation is the focus in the north, while protected warmth-loving flora is found on the hill. This gives the landscape its own nature focus alongside cycling and local history.

A municipal notice updated in 2025 announced plans to designate the Lange Wart area as a natural monument. The area was given as approximately two hectares. The notice named dry grassland plant communities and specially protected plant and animal species as the conservation objectives.

Winegrowing tradition and trip planning

On 3 May 2025, the winemakers’ association held the 26th edition of the traditional wine exhibition in Nový Přerov. If you would like to include the exhibition in your trip, check the date for your travel dates. This keeps the specific edition distinct from the village’s longer-standing winegrowing tradition.

Bus services run from Nový Přerov towards Mikulov and Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou. Check the current timetable for your travel dates. Together with the cycling loop, these offer two distinct planning options: bus services in the stated directions and a cycling route of a specified length that passes through Nový Přerov.
