Discover Svinetice through its waterways, marked trails and two chapels with distinct designs. East of the village is a pond system, and several routes pass through the village or continue from there. When planning your visit, you can decide whether to focus on the pond landscape, a hiking route or a cycling destination.

Ponds and Hiking Routes

The pond system east of Svinetice includes Rozboud, Kačírek and Záhorský rybník. There is also a bathing spot within this pond system. Alongside the trails, this gives you several specific places by the water to choose from: you can make the named ponds or the bathing spot the focus of your stay.

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Útěšov through Svinetice and onward along the Blanice River and the named ponds towards Vodňany. The village, river and pond landscape are thus connected by a single route; Vodňany also provides a sense of direction for continuing your journey.

Hiking and Cycling Options

The combined cycling and hiking route “Kdyby byl Bavorov…” passes through Svinetice and is listed as an 18-kilometre loop. Along this route, yellow-marked trails lead from Svinetice to Útěšov (3 km) and Štětín (5 km). The loop is 18 kilometres long; the yellow-marked extensions offer shorter route options. Útěšov is 3 kilometres away and Štětín 5 kilometres, making Útěšov the shorter option for you.

A cycling alternative from Svinetice follows the yellow-marked route for four kilometres to Záhorský rybník and Kemp Pražák. The 4 km distance is shorter than the 18 km loop and refers to a separate cycling option with two named destinations.

Another route reaches Svinetice via pond dams and field paths, with views of the surrounding landscape. At the edge of the village, it joins yellow tourist trail markings; from Svinetice, it continues over the dam to the “Záhorský rybník” nature reserve. Here, the focus is on views of the landscape, trail markings and a specifically named protected area as a destination. Trail conditions and markings can change, so check them before setting out.

Chapels in the Village

A chapel with a brick bell tower and an onion-shaped roof above a vaulted entrance stands in the village square. There is also a richly decorated niche chapel at the edge of the village. The two buildings make distinct architectural statements: the tower and roof shape define the chapel in the square, while the niche and ornamentation distinguish the one at the village edge. Together, these two forms of religious architecture complement the village’s landscape and waterways.
