Lipence combines the landscape along the Berounka with a stream, a pond and selected leisure activities. Most of the town lies in the floodplain on the right bank of the Berounka. When looking for a holiday apartment, it is worth first considering whether you are primarily interested in the waterside landscape, swimming during the season or a sporting activity.

Riverbank, Stream and Pond

To the northwest and west, the Berounka forms the boundary between Lipence, Radotín and Černošice. The Lipenecký potok rises in the southern part of Lipence; its entire course lies in the Prague 5 district, within the Lipence cadastral area. Its upper course runs through wooded terrain in a natural stream bed. In the holiday home area, there is also an artificial pond alongside the stream. The source, natural stream course and artificial pond are distinct features of the local waterscape alongside the larger riverbank.

Swimming During the Season

For the 2026 swimming season, Jezero Lipence was listed as a new natural swimming area. Jezero offers the general public a recreational area with a nature park, lake and beach. It operates seasonally; check the swimming information before travelling. The operator regularly monitors water quality and publishes test results and practical information about swimming. This allows you to take seasonal notices and published water quality information into account when planning.

Lipence’s Historic Core

The history of present-day Lipence is linked to two historic settlements: Lipenec and Lipany united to form the basis of Lipence. Lipany, part of present-day Lipence, was first mentioned in writing in 1115. This early written record places the town in a specific historical period, while the unification of the settlements explains its origins.

Cycling, Model Aircraft Flying and Golf Training

Cycle route 8100, known as Pražské kolo, passes through Zbraslav and Lipence and continues towards Dolní Černošice. This gives you a specific route through several named places to plan a cycling trip. The MK Lipence model flying site is in Prague, near the confluence of the Berounka and the Vltava. It can be reached by car and is within reach of public transport.

Another sporting option is Prague City Golf Zbraslav. The facility is located at Oddechová 886, 155 00, Lipence, Praha 5. Its facilities include a driving range with 18 covered and 30 uncovered bays, practice areas, and the Prague City Golf Academy, a training centre for young people and adults. The sporting options address different planning considerations: the model flying site lists car and public transport as ways to get there, while golf focuses on practice areas and bays.

In the lower part of Lipence, there is a children’s playground on the grounds of Lipenecký statek, maintained by the municipal administration. It adds a specific place to play in the town alongside the sporting facilities, without making a general claim about its suitability for families.

Tailor Your Stay to Your Interests

When looking for a holiday apartment, you can decide in advance which aspect matters most for your stay: the landscape along the river and stream, seasonal swimming, cycling or golf training. If the natural swimming area is important to you, take its seasonal operation into account and check the swimming information before travelling.
