For travelers interested in local history, Osík is best known for its arched stone bridge over the Desinka. It lies in the lower part of the village, by Vesní Pond, and is a cultural monument. Two statues of saints, created at different times, stand by the bridge; in the center, a monument adds another historical point of interest. Religious themes round out the picture. Together, these sites form a cultural focal point, with distinct themes spanning architecture, sculpture, and local history.

The Stone Bridge and Its Statues

The arched stone bridge crosses the Desinka in the lower part of Osík, by Vesní Pond. As a cultural monument, it is a significant structure in its own right; statues of Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Wenceslas also stand by the bridge. For culturally minded travelers, this brings architecture and sculpture together in a clearly identified location. The connection is specific: one structure, two figures of saints, and different historical details for each.

The statue of Saint Anthony of Padua is 165 cm tall and dates from the 18th century; its artist is unknown. The statue of Saint Wenceslas is 167 cm tall and was created by J. Vašata and V. Kroupa in 1929. The two-centimeter difference in height is slight; the more notable contrast lies in their historical context and authorship. Both figures are made of fine-grained sandstone, while their plinths are made of coarse-grained sandstone. At the bridge, you can compare their nearly identical dimensions as well as their different dates and materials.

Places of Remembrance and Religious Themes

Today, a monument to the victims of the world war stands in a park in the village center, opposite the municipal office. This provides a separate place of remembrance in addition to the cultural monument at the bridge. The location details offer two distinct landmarks: the bridge is in the lower part of Osík, while the monument is in the village center opposite the municipal office.

A chapel with a statue of the Virgin Mary was restored in 2020, after about sixty years, through the initiative of a group of committed local residents. Saint Hubert is another religious theme: a carving depicts his apparition, and a chapel is dedicated to him. These places and works center on both a specific restoration story and a religious image and dedication.

The Nízký lanový park Osík

The course has 17 obstacles at heights of 0.5 to 1 meter. At each obstacle, two visitors must secure each other. Working together is therefore part of the specific challenge; the low height alone does not fully describe the activity. If you plan to visit the park, make sure you have a second person to help with the mutual safety checks, and check before your visit whether the park is currently open.

Planned Site of the White Gallery

A site for the White Gallery was planned on the edge of Osík, in a picturesque bend of a meandering stream. The bend and the stream are the specific features of this planned location.
