Streams and Ponds
Tisová can be explored through two distinct aspects: its local water system and the evidence of its village and cultural history. When it comes to the streams, it is not just their individual names that matter, but also how they connect: the Labíčko flows into the Labuťka in Tisová; the Labuťka then flows into the Sloupnický potok there, which runs through the village. The two confluences form a clear sequence and make the connections between the three watercourses easy to understand.
There are three ponds in Tisová itself; the largest is called Bačův rybník. It is also the former manorial pond, which now bears this name. The number three describes the local ponds, while Bačův rybník, as an individual pond, has a particular historical significance. Thus, two aspects of the landscape stand side by side: the group of ponds and the former importance of the largest body of water. Together with the successive stream confluences, they create a clear picture of how different kinds of water features in Tisová are named and understood in their historical context.
Architecture and Cultural Monuments
The Chapel of Saint Vojtěch dates from 1775 and is a cultural monument in Tisová. A stone crucifix stands in the greenery in front of the chapel. The chapel is identified by its year of construction and monument status; the cross is distinguished by its material and location in front of the building. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Koutech is also among Tisová’s cultural monuments.
The farmsteads are also part of the village’s architectural heritage. In Tisová, farmsteads with the square layout typical of large agricultural estates have only been partially preserved. This form concerns more than a single building: it describes the layout of the farmyards. Since it has only been partially preserved, it can be understood as a trace of the village’s history, rather than as an intact ensemble. The architectural heritage ranges from individual religious buildings and monuments to the partially preserved square layout of the farmsteads.
Commemoration and Community Life
A memorial in Tisová commemorates the victims of the First and Second World Wars. Another memorial stone is dedicated to the writer Tobiáš Eliáš Tisovský, who was born in Tisová; it was unveiled by ECCE Tisová. The two memorials have different points of reference: one commemorates the victims of two wars, while the other is dedicated to a named individual whose birthplace was Tisová.
TJ Sokol Tisová is part of the village’s present-day community life. The association runs sports, tourism, and educational and awareness-raising activities; its sports facilities are open to the public. Thus, alongside the waterways, farmsteads and memorials, community activities form another distinct part of the village’s character.
