From the path leading up to the Chapel of Saint Florian, you can look out over Dlouhomilov and the Loučka Valley. This viewpoint connects the landscape directly to the village: you can take in the settlement and the valley in which Dlouhomilov lies.

Village history and historical landmarks

The All Saints Church is a protected immovable cultural monument dating from the second half of the 17th century. Rural farmstead No. 7 is located in the centre of the Dlouhomilov village conservation area and was formerly a rychtář's estate.

The timeline reaches far back before these architectural landmarks. The area around the present-day site of Dlouhomilov was already inhabited at least as early as 3000 BC. A stone axe from the Neolithic period was found in Dlouhomilov.

A precisely dated milestone in the village's history is the memorial to the victims of the First and Second World Wars. It stands at a crossroads in the village below the All Saints Church and was ceremonially unveiled on 21 August 1921. The Empire-style statue of Saint John of Nepomuk also has a specific date: it was added in 1839. The area around the present-day site has been inhabited since at least 3000 BC. Along the timeline come the All Saints Church, dating from the second half of the 17th century; the Empire-style statue, added in 1839; and the war victims' memorial, ceremonially unveiled on 21 August 1921.

Valley, hills and trails

Dlouhomilov lies in the valley of the Loučka, Dražník and Benkovský streams. Bašta Hill lies to the north of the village, and Skalka Hill to the east. Together, the three streams and two named hills provide clear landmarks in the landscape.

From the path leading up to the Chapel of Saint Florian, you can see Dlouhomilov and the Loučka Valley. The shortest way to the chapel is along a footpath from the road near the Sokolovna. If you plan to visit this viewpoint, you can include the footpath as part of your visit. Check trail conditions before setting out, as they may change.

There is also a walking route associated with the village: an archived route entry dated 2007 lists Dlouhomilov as part of the Šumperk–Králec–Brníčko–Postřelmov route. If you would like to use this route sequence for a hike today, check the current trail route in advance. The route and the access path to the chapel offer different points of reference for your plans: the route entry places Dlouhomilov on a named walking route, while the path to the chapel leads to a specific view of the village and valley.
