The bronze bell in the bell tower in Čechy was cast in 1759 at the workshop of bell founder Wolfgang Straub in Olomouc. The bell tower is a state-protected, two-storey historic monument dating from the second half of the 18th century and is one of the last surviving structures of its kind in the Czech Republic. Local cultural heritage thus ranges from the precisely dated bell casting to the protected architectural form of the entire tower. The year 1759 and the building’s dating to the second half of the century shed light on history on two levels: the casting of an individual bell and the architecture of the bell tower.

The swimming pool

The swimming pool in Čechy has a 50-metre main pool. The bathing complex also includes a children’s pool and a toddlers’ splash pool. You can take these different pool options into account when deciding on a day at the pool. If you are planning a day of swimming, check the current opening hours and prices in advance. This will help you decide whether the swimming pool suits your travel dates.

Dvůr Mariánov and walks

Dvůr Mariánov is a separate former agricultural estate complex outside the main part of Čechy and its built-up area. Its location near forests makes it a starting point for walks in the surrounding area. The estate has stables for racehorses, and horseback rides are available there. If a ride will be part of your stay, check before travelling whether it is available on your dates. Walks and horseback rides are two different ways to plan time outdoors.

Protected trees and local history

The former Sokolský stadion tells another story of the area: the trees planted there at the beginning of the 20th century now form a significant group of protected trees. At the bell tower, the focus is on its construction in the second half of the 18th century; for the trees, an early-20th-century planting and their current protected status come together. This makes it possible to explore local history not only through a building, but also through a protected group of trees.

Lantern procession and travel dates

A traditional lantern procession is held in Čechy in memory of the victims of the world wars. If you would like to travel for the procession, check its specific date separately. This will help you determine whether the event fits your planned stay.

Cycle routes and bus connections

Two marked cycle routes pass through Čechy. There are also bus stops in Čechy and the surrounding area, with route 941 connections between Vsetín and Přerov; buses run on weekdays and weekends. This gives you both a marked cycling option and bus connections with named endpoints to consider when planning your trip. If you are planning a bus journey, check the current timetable in advance to make sure the operating days match your travel day.

Plan your stay

When looking for a holiday apartment, the order of planning matters: if the lantern procession is the reason for your trip, first confirm its specific date. For a flexible stay, you can instead choose a cultural and historical or natural focus and plan your accommodation search around it.
