Radonice combines classical riding instruction with a zoo park, sports facilities and recurring events. When planning your visit, it is worth considering the different highlights: horse riding and care, animals, exercise or local culture. Depending on the occasion, different visitor information matters, such as booking, current access or event dates.
Horse Riding, Animals and Exercise
Jízdárna Radonice offers the public comprehensive classical riding instruction; its riding school also teaches horse riding and the basics of horse care. At Zoopark Radonice, by contrast, the focus is on animals: visitors can see various species of birds, domestic animals and wildlife, move freely around the grounds and pet some animals during feeding. This is the difference between guided riding lessons and observing animals with the opportunity to interact with them during feeding. Check booking requirements and availability for riding instruction in advance. Confirm current access to the zoo park before travelling; the animals on site may also change.
Sportcentrum Radonice offers outdoor tennis, table tennis and beach volleyball. Its grounds are also home to Tanzania Jump, an indoor trampoline centre for children. This means three ball sports are available alongside a trampoline activity for children. As sports activities and facility details may change, check the latest information before your visit.
Several bus services are listed for visitors to Sportcentrum: bus 367 from Praha Černý most, bus 376 from Praha Letňany, and buses 367 and 376 from Brandýs nad Labem. The stop is called Radonice. If you plan to travel by bus, check the route and stop before setting off. Both services run from Brandýs nad Labem; from Prague, choose your bus based on your departure point.
Events and Local History
Traditional events are held regularly throughout the year. They include the burning of the witches, Children’s Day, an evening for parents, the local church festival and an open-air Christmas theatre performance by local amateur actors. The dates vary. If you want to plan your trip around one of these celebrations, check the specific date.
Radonice Cultural Centre consists of Obecní dům and Rodinný park Amerika. Both venues host cultural and social events as well as leisure activities. The cultural offering therefore includes not only recurring celebrations but also these two parts of the cultural centre.
Those interested in local history can also visit the site of the former fortress: the fortress has completely disappeared. Houses nos. 22, 23, 25 and 41 now stand on its site, along with a well, an inaccessible remnant of a cellar and a presumably filled-in underground passage. The fortress itself is therefore not a surviving site that can be visited; the cellar remnant is also inaccessible.
