Rohatsko lies on a sunny, low terrace facing southeast above the Klenice River. The “Okolo Klenice za hrou a poučením” nature trail passes through the village. Three distinct points of interest are central to planning your trip: the riverside landscape, the history of the border area with Dolní Bousov, and routes by bicycle and train. Location and history

The terrace location, its orientation and its connection to the river complement one another in the description of Rohatsko. Together, they place the village above the Klenice and provide a landscape setting for the nature trail.

Rohatsko’s historical references can be distinguished by time and subject. In the 9th century, a Slavic settlement was founded on the border between Rohatsko and Dolní Bousov. In the 13th century, the idea emerged of founding an agricultural village with what were probably five or six farmsteads. One refers to a settlement, the other to a plan; the number of farmsteads is also only an estimate. Thus, early settlement and a later founding idea stand side by side without being combined into a single founding date.

A purchase agreement for the Kost estate contains the first written mention of Rohatsko. Unlike the references to the settlement and founding idea, this reference comes from a purchase agreement.

A new copy of the statue of Saint Wenceslas stands on the cadastral boundary between Rohatsko and Dolní Bousov. Nature trail, cycling route and rail

The nature trail passes through Rohatsko, but starts and ends at the outdoor swimming pool in Dolní Bousov. The Studánka Na Horách spring lies beside the trail and has its own information board. Thus, in addition to the route through the village, two endpoints and a named point of reference along the trail are described.

Route 8148 from Dolní Bousov to Rohatsko is recommended for a cycling trip. Signage and surface conditions can change, so check both before setting out. This recommendation describes a cycling route between the two villages; it is a separate planning consideration from the nature trail.

From Rohatsko railway stop, you can join the nature trail along the local Klenice stream. The information therefore differs by mode of transport: Route 8148 is recommended for a cycling trip from Dolní Bousov to Rohatsko, while the railway stop provides access to the nature trail.
