Agros combines walks through several parks with hiking trails, sweeping views of forests and glimpses of traditional crafts. Two practical questions can help you plan your stay: would you like to focus mainly on exploring the village, or also include a hike, and how much time do you want to set aside for it?

A village setting amid mountains and forests

Agros has a theatre-like layout. The village lies among the surrounding mountains and offers sweeping views of forests. Parks extend from the heart of the village to its outskirts, allowing you to combine views of the landscape with specific stops around the village.

Parks with different features

Anastasia Park lies south of the village centre, near the Church of Prodromos. St Luke's Park is southeast of the centre, at the entrance to the village from the direction of Limassol. It has a picnic area, a fountain and a children's playground; check the condition of the facilities on site if needed. Kaoura Park is more centrally located, in the heart of Agros. It is a place for walks and relaxation and also has a playground. The parks therefore differ both in location and in the facilities mentioned.

Fountain, mill and local workshops

The traditional stone Kaoura Fountain stands in Kaoura Park. It dates from the early 20th century and flows year-round. Another historic site associated with the Pera Geitonia parish is the olive mill: in 1930, it was moved from the cellar of the Agros girls' school to its present traditional building beside the Church of St John the Baptist.

At local workshops, visitors can see traditional rose distillation, confectionery making and meat processing. As workshop hours may vary, check suitable visiting times in advance. This makes it easier to factor these crafts into your plans without assuming set hours.

Hiking trails and time planning

Two linear hiking trails with specific route details are available to help you plan your time. The Lagoudera–Agros trail is 6 km long, takes about 2.5 hours and has a difficulty level of 3. It can also start at the Agros bypass above the reservoir. The Agros–Madari trail starts there and is 7 km long from Agros; it takes about 3 hours and also has a difficulty level of 3. Compare the stated distances and estimated times before choosing one of the two hikes. Check local conditions before setting out.

Christmas Village in Kaoura Park

During the Christmas season, the square in Kaoura Park hosts the Agros Christmas Village. As no specific dates are given, check the current dates before making plans. This seasonal event adds a time-limited option to the park and hiking activities described as available year-round.
