Skrivena Luka, also known as Portorus, lies on the southern side of Lastovo. The bay, lighthouse, beaches and an organised boat excursion offer different ways to enjoy a stay. When choosing your destination, you can first decide between coastal and swimming experiences, cultural history and a tour on the water.

The Bay and Sea Views

Skrivena Luka is considered a sheltered bay. Its protected location offers boaters shelter from strong winds and rough seas. It is also one of Lastovo’s safest bays for anchoring. Conditions may vary, so check them before planning to anchor in the bay.

The Lighthouse and Local History

Struga Lighthouse is located in Skrivena Luka and was built in 1839. It stands 90 metres above sea level, on the edge of a steep cliff overlooking the open sea. There are viewpoints at the lighthouse, and the sea can be accessed on its northern side through a pine forest.

The Church of St. Cyprian offers an older historical connection: it was built in the 11th century on a hill above Skrivena Luka. Its construction history goes back considerably further than that of the lighthouse, built in 1839. The two buildings thus represent distinct periods.

Beaches and Coastal Landscapes

KujenÄŤeva ropa is a naturist beach in Skrivena Luka. You can reach it by car, bicycle, on foot or by boat. As access information should be confirmed seasonally, check it before your visit.

Mali Ĺľal has shallow water that extends for approximately ten metres and is suitable for children and non-swimmers. This clearly distinguishes the beach from KujenÄŤeva ropa: when choosing between them, first consider whether you prefer a naturist beach or shallow water by the shore. Cape Struga also offers a distinctive view of the coast, with unique flora and cliffs that descend to a depth of up to 80 metres.

Boat Excursions and Regional Cuisine

On the return journey, the educational tour organised by Lastovo Islands Nature Park passes through the southern bays and highlights Skrivena Luka and Struga Lighthouse. The organised boat excursion lasts about four hours. Snorkelling gear, swimwear, a towel and water are recommended. As logistics may change seasonally, check the latest information on duration and recommendations before making plans.

Pod Maslinu is an excursion destination where you can experience organically grown food in the context of the area’s traditional cuisine. Skrivena Luka’s tourist offerings also include the Port Rosso nautical centre, with a Dalmatian konoba, cocktail bar, pier and pebble beach. Konoba Nautica offers local and foreign wines, fish and meat from traditional catches, and fruit and vegetables from traditional cultivation; mooring services are also available. This gives you culinary and nautical options alongside coastal and cultural experiences when planning your trip.
