Plesmo lies at the southern entrance to Lonjsko Polje Nature Park. At the Strug, there is a solar-powered boat landing, and a local route runs through the Rastina floodplain forest. Alongside these, a protected historic rural village setting represents the cultural focus of the settlement. Nature, route options and settlement history therefore offer different starting points for planning your trip.

Strug Boat Trip and Local Route

The boat landing in Plesmo offers quiet trips on solar-powered boats through Lonjsko polje. The boats can accommodate up to twelve people. The park lists April to October as the season. Check the specific operating details before your visit so you can plan the trip to suit your travel dates.

From Plesmo, local route PPLP/LPNP 2 runs through the Rastina floodplain forest. It connects the Sava National Route, also known as the Posavina Route, with Route SMĹ˝ 1. For the boat trip, the seasonal operating window is the key planning consideration; for the route, its course and connections are specified. Ask locally about current route conditions.

Protected Village and Rural Building Culture

Plesmo is a protected historic rural ensemble. Its settlement structure, dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries, has been preserved. Plesmo is also considered one of the best-preserved Posavina villages associated with this period. The cultural focus therefore extends beyond individual buildings: the layout of the settlement is also part of its historical context. The ensemble concept draws attention both to the settlement structure and to individual houses.

The houses at Plesmo 66 and Plesmo 60 represent different aspects. Plesmo 66 retains its original form and exemplifies traditional building methods and rural life in the early 20th century. Plesmo 60 was built at the beginning of the 20th century with walls made of hewn oak planks. By comparison, the first house raises questions of form and way of life, while the second focuses on materials and construction. This makes it possible to explore building culture through two specific but distinct features. Plesmo’s settlement structure dates back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries; houses 66 and 60, by contrast, are associated with the early 20th century.

Posavina Cuisine and Nearby Activities

According to its own information, Ekoetno Selo Strug prepares homemade bread, pasta and gnocchi using Posavina recipes and vegetables from nearby family farms. This adds a culinary connection to Posavina alongside the history of its buildings.

The nearby Krapje Visitor Centre rents out bicycles and canoes. If you would like to include these rental options in your plans, Krapje offers another activity in the area, in addition to the boat trip and local route.
