Laga thus offers a different focus from the circumambulation of Animaqing: here, the riverside setting and the monastery’s religious significance take centre stage. When deciding on your trip, you can consider these themes separately rather than automatically assuming they form a single day’s itinerary.
Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Performances
A report dated 15 June 2026 describes evening performances of the nationally recognised intangible cultural heritage form “Maqin Tibetan Opera.” Check the specific dates if you would like to include a performance in your travel plans. A report from the same date also mentions opportunities for practical insights in an intangible cultural heritage district: forging Tibetan silver ornaments, painting Thangkas in the filigree style, and carving Tibetan jade. As arrangements for participation can change, ask in advance which experiences will be available during your visit.
