Coaticook brings together a wide range of experiences: marked mountain biking trails, interactive games and light displays, culture in the town, and activities on the water. To start planning your trip, decide what you would like to focus on: exercise, an interactive experience, local history or an outing on the water. This will help you choose among the options without limiting your trip to just one kind of discovery.
Trails and activities on the water
Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook offers 23 km of marked mountain biking trails. The difficulty ranges from beginner to expert; choose a trail suited to your experience. Aquaticook is a three-part canoe and kayak route with a launch point at Parc Denis-Marcoux de Coaticook. The two offerings differ in format: one has marked mountain biking trails with a stated range of difficulty, while the other is a route in three sections.
At Parc Harold F. Baldwin, also known as Mont Pinacle, a cliff at the summit drops steeply into Lac Lyster. At Mont Pinacle in Baldwin, single and tandem kayaks, as well as pedal boats, are available to rent seven days a week. If your plans depend on renting a boat, check availability in advance.
Games, lights and unusual settings
Acoatica at Parc Découverte nature is an interactive adventure with indoor and outdoor stations. Visitors play a variety of games to try to create the largest possible school of fish; each person receives a wristband linked to their team profile. The experience combines stations in different locations with a shared goal and an individual wristband.
Foresta Lumina is an illuminated nighttime trail featuring scenography, lighting and projection illusions. It was conceived and created by Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook and Moment Factory. Glo Golf Aventures offers a different format: its 18-hole mini-golf course is housed in a decommissioned church and decorated with large-scale 3D displays and ultraviolet lighting. The options therefore offer different kinds of experiences: interactive games, a nighttime light show or mini-golf in an unusual setting.
Local history and architecture
La Grande Échappée – Odyssée Urbaine is a theatrical walking tour through downtown Coaticook. The tour starts at Microbrasserie Hop Station and is produced by Traces & Souvenances. It shares historical, unusual or fictional stories from Coaticook’s history, making the storytelling an integral part of the experience.
Musée Beaulne is housed in Château Arthur-Osmore-Norton (1845–1919). This offers two different ways to experience culture: a museum in a named château, and a theatrical walking tour through downtown that tells stories. If you would like to include culture in your trip, you can choose between these formats based on your interest in museums or theatrical storytelling.
A sweet break in town
Laiterie de Coaticook operates a dairy bar right in the town of Coaticook, offering a variety of sweet treats for children and adults. It adds a culinary dimension to the destination, alongside its trails, water activities and cultural experiences.
Also in the wider Coaticook area
In the wider Coaticook area, the 18 km Circuit vélo-piétonnier Rivière aux Pins runs along the Coaticook River, through the countryside and into the town centre as a route for cyclists and pedestrians. It differs from the mountain biking trails at Parc de la Gorge: it is designated for both cyclists and pedestrians and follows the river. The wider Coaticook area also has three heritage circuits highlighting its built and religious heritage, as well as the history of the local population.
